I have been told by an extremely passionate Swannies supporter that Luke Ablett will not be at Sydney in 2003, that Luke wants to go to Geelong to be with his cousin Gary jr as he is homesick in Sydney and he has asked that he play the season out with Port Melbourne.

We would want a decent trade then ...

I'm not surprised that Luke would want to leave the club, especially when you consider the Colless regime in which priority is given to players with higher pay packets. Her would relish the oppurtunity of being treated equally to his higher paid teammates.

It has been in the past.
Ablett has had some chances at senior level, and has done some good things.
Unfortunately for him, he would have debuted earlier, but every time he got up some momentum, he got injured again.
He will be at Sydney next season.

Hmmmm Luke Ablett for say your 1st Round Draft Pick and also Tom Haley. Also Luke isn't from Geelong, he is from Drouin.

Robbie
Given that Sydney are reluctant to part with a rd 1 pick to secure a proven champion (albeit an ageing, high risk one) I somehow doubt Ablett would command a first round pick, let alone a decent player as well. He's been in the AFL system 2 years, has delivered little and is injury prone. At best we might get back the second round pick he cost us.
Not that I'm writing him off, mind. I've seen enough to suppose he could be a good player. But he doesn't have that much trade value ATM. Hopefully Sydney can persuade him to stay a little longer.

there is no way that Luke Ablett wants to leave sydney. He loves it here and he is really close to all the guys.
why would Luke want to go to Geelong to be with his cousin especially when he is as close to all the swans and they have become his new family.
stop the specualtion until anything officially is announced!!!!!
