Brought it yesterday (was released yesterday). Another fantastic album from the Melbourne based Aussie band.

Each to their own.

Most over-rated band, closely followed by Grinspoon, in this country IMO.

As you can see from my nick I was quite a Motor Ace fan.

I have been following them since their first EP release.
The new cd shoot this, is a bit different from their last release, Five Star Laundry.

Still great stuff from the Melbourne Lads though.

Yeah I like them.. although Carry On is over-rated... got worn out over the radio. I've asked a few people what they think of it (the typical teenagers who love a band for one song) and thy love it, but have never heard of Chromakey, Death Deft, Criminal Past, which are all much better then Carry On IMO.

Carry-On is probably the worst song on the new album. What possessed them to make that they're first single is beyond me. It isnt a bad song, but its the sort of song you get sick of if you hear it too much.

They're older stuff is certainly fantastic.
Chromakey is my favourite all time song.
Chairman of the Board is a good piece.
Lowrider is another that isnt so well known, as is Fluke.

Just like Bodyjar - How it Works, Motor Ace - Five Star Laundry tended to be a bit monotonous. Haven't heard their new album, but that's just my opinion of thelast album.

Criminal Past, Death Defy and American Shoes were quite good.

I understand what you mean with Bodyjar, but I didnt find Five Star Laundry monotonous at all. I thought each song had its differences.

Oh well each to their own... This album I cant say is monotonous at all.

There are some accustic tracks :D

Chromakey, IMO, is better than all of them, but then that's probably just me! Their next best would be Carry On, followed by Death Defy. Keeping Secrets isn't bad either, but then that's a different sound again, similar to Carry On. I'd get their new one if I had the money. For the mean time I'm just buying their singles :D

Carry On is probably one of the worst songs they have produced to date (not sayings its a bad song, just no where near some of hte others they have done).

Keeping Secrets is nothing like Carry On IMO.

Chromakey is probably their best, but some of the songs on this album, although different, do rival it in I think.

Depends what sound you are into. I love Carry On, coz that's the sort of sound I like.

When I said Keeping Secrets was like Carry On, I meant, moreso than it is like the songs on their last album...

There is nothing wrong with Carry On. Just a bit too 'poppy' to be one of my high favs, especially for a rock band ....

Carry On is out there in a field of its own, its like nothing else MA have done.

Bought the new album today..
Carry On is nothing like the other songs, but IMO it is just as good as the others.
I thought there were a few similarities between the two albums, which is a good thing. But it's still a bit of a different sound.
I love it so far!

And to think three people (not including myself, and not including Sarah when she posts here), found Motor Ace out cuz of Masey :D

What did you expect me to do? lol.

All that put aside, they are a damn good band. But I still prefer 5 star laundry..:)
