Although i had never actually heard of the band, they did perform at BDO, here is the article from Undercover Music News:

Drowning Pool singer found dead

Drowning Pool singer Dave Williams has been found dead on the band's tour bus, while in Virginia on the Ozzfest tour.
Details are unknown at this stage. The only official statement released from Sony Music states "Drowning Pool singer Dave Williams was found dead on the band's tour bus this afternoon. The quartet from Dallas, Texas has been performing as one of the main stage attractions on Ozzfest. The cause of death has yet to be determined. Williams was thirty years-old".

Dallas based Drowning Pool formed in the late 90s and took their name from the classic 70s Paul Newman movie of the same name.

The band released their debut album Sinner in June last year on the Wind Up label, distributed through Sony. The record was produced by Jay Baumgardner (Papa Roach, Godsmack, Orgy).

Drowning Pool were one of the main stage attractions for this years Ozzfest. Earlier this year, they played the Big Day Out across Australia.

Thats really f*cking sad news. Could take or leave his band, but got to meet him at this year's BDO after party and he was a really cool guy. Really down to earth and a decent bloke.

Like i said, really sad.

Terrible news, Sinner was one of the best albums I bought last year and DP were one of the great emerging Metal bands.

RIP Dave Williams - you will be missed.

Just had some more news from Undercover.com

Apparently on Ebay, they had the tour bus up for auction! and in the description they even stated that this was the genuine tour bus where Dave Williams died. This is an alltime low!

The reserve price was $650,000and no-one bidded.
