By the looks of things, wilson is fully fit and ready to go.
Wilson underwent a gruelling rehabilitation after snapping his Achilles tendon in the 2007 Preliminary Final and, having completed training last week, is good to go this weekend

So, to play him against the hawks or give him a run in the SANFL?
Personally, i'd be fine seeing him go against the hawks - I have to agree with kane cornes on this one...

Big risk. His match fitness would be nothing, remembering his lack of preseason combined with zero games in eight months.
And who comes out? Surj? Thomilf? T-Lo? Stiffness.
No - not match fit, be very rusty. Give him a game with the Magpies to get his bearings. I would be extremely surprised if Choco played him.

Play him in the ones, He is a natually Fit bloke and his style is not something you can train for. He is a club legend would have Tredrea played for the Magpies last year if the was an AFL match? Would Craig Bradley or James Hird have Played for the twos after comming back from injury? (Thinking of James Hirds face fracture)

Tredders came back via the two's. There's no shame in it. It makes perfect sense for the Wilburnator to gain some match fitness in the magoos. Smacks of gold card syndrome otherwise given the length of his layoff.

But has he had his flu shot?

It's Hawthorn, and we don't have Chad .. be a huge boost to the younger guys to see him suit up. Play him ....

I'd play him if he passes the fitness tests.........he wouldn't play if he didn't think he could do it.

personally, i'd play him in the sanfl
not one single match since SEPTEMBER, that was literally 8 months ago. i know he's got one of the biggest tanks at the club along with kane, but still, the fact that he hasn't even had a preseason, surely you'd want to test him out at the magpies?
no shame at all, this is wilbur, we all know he is not human because he doesn't understand what fear means, but still... give him a match to gain some actual match fitness
now im thinking about how much i wanna see wilbur play... ____ it, if he aces the fitness tests, then play him against hawks

At his age and with his style of play, I reckon Wilbur only has maybe 30 games left in that battle weary body of his. For mine, every one of those games should be in a Power guernsey...

If he does play who would be dropped i wouldn't mind dropping Surj and playing Wilbur on Rioli although i doubt he could keep up with him.
Play him in the 2's and see who plays really bad this week and Wilbur can possibly come in for him.

worth wilbur playing SANFL first to test his skill and fitness levels - no shame in that - just to see how he goes - if he dominates - then ready for AFL game.

gonna have to say bring him in!!
he is my favorite player ever but this factor doesn't really have any impact on my reasoning.
1. great player - easy slot into the team
2. mental toughness - flow on effect to the other players
3. leadership - great leader, probably better than warren IMO
4. chad out + massive season defining game = bring him in
IMO easy inclusion given what we have been told, as for who goes out, i have no clue....

It's a tough one.
If wilbur came in, i'd think that he'd take over Dom's role, allowing Dom more midfield time. If that happens, i think Logan or Pearce would be facing the chopping block...

Yeah I was thinking Logan, but I think he is in our Best 22 ATM, Pearce worries sides and is capable of putting together a game, Ebert has been out of form, Gray is on the fringe, but it will/would probably be Thomson:(

I think that is the biggest reason why he should come straight in.

And who will make way for The Chad?:)
Personally, if Wilbur is fit, he should be an in - we are a stronger side with him. Any doubt, then ease him back with 20mins or so for the Magpies.
Logan would be the obvious out - has again proven himself to be a very serviceable and solid team member, but not done enough to make himself completely safe.
As for what to do, when The Chad and Matty Thomas are fully fit, we will need to see how the form lines of guys like Grey, Ebert and Pearce are going... It is always good to see pressure for spots!
BRING HIM IN BOYS!!!
if wilbur is fit... he plays
as simple as that
Wilbur is a club legend and is the heart and soul of the Port Adelaide Football Club
just having him in the team is a huge boost to the rest of the team
we need him
Chocco was on 7 news, he was asked if wilson would play for the power, and he wasnt to keen, he said it would be safer to play him in the SANFL this week.

well, like port81 said, in choco's interview last night, he was pretty much reluctant in playing wilbur this week in tas.
sanfl is the most likely outcome this week
He's not playing - Team unchanged. Right decision.
