Every 08 member got Eagle Eye March Edition Right.
So whats up with Ryan Davis saying the the Young Gun profile section and i Quote" I'd mainly like to improve my kicking so i can be more dangerous.
Im looking forward to playing with the Swan Districts FC, gettinginto that and starting to play footy again .
(Now here is the odd part)
I've only got a year here so I'll play it by ear and make the most of it. End Quote
What the hell does he mean 1 year! I realize he is a Scolarship player but surly we are going to elevate him onto the senior list next year! Or does he want to go home already?
Can any of you big footy superstars assist me before I go NUTS:eek:
he's only got a year contract. he has to get elevated or cut.
so he's only got 1 year to show us what he's got.
he'll get elevated if he keeps showing form like he has been.

He's sick of Judd
Don't get too panicky. The club obviously wants to see what he has to offer. I also noticed when details about Arrowsmith transferring to Peel came out that he is only on a 1 year deal as well. Just the way the club's going about it. They put Kennedy on a 3yr deal straight away and Cox on 4, so they're not frightened when they know what they're going to get.
So far it has worked, because Ryan has put his best foot forward. He's just got to keep doing that.
Think you've misinterpreted mate, but he didn't word himself very well.
Right at the moment he's only got a 1 year contract - you may be dead sure that he will be retained, but he has no idea. Shitall job security for a rookie.
He means that as he has 1 year to prove himself he's going to make a good fist of it.

You are right about the lack of security and the unknown for these players. I think all of the Rookies are on 1 year contracts and they are well aware of the fact that most rookies dont make it so they have only got that first year to show that they can cut it. West Coast often give the rookies a second year and in Wilkes' case this is his 4th which I think is crazy as you would think you would know you had a keeper after a couple of years or cut them and take on a better prospect.
Davis has shown amazing improvement in the few months he has been with the squad considering his limited footy background and if we dont grab him he will be snapped up in the draft this year. Brownlow 2012!
They put Kennedy on a 3yr deal straight away and Cox on 4,
I thought I read that Kennedy was only on a 2 year deal at the moment. Might want to get back to his mates in Melbourne....
not all rookies are on 1 year contracts.
most of them are on 2 i believe.

I thought 2 year contracts were default for rookies?
I thought 2 year contracts were default for rookies?
Correct.
yeah, so im not sure how the arrowsmith contract works.

Only for those taken in the National Draft (ie Masten, Ebert, Scooter and Notte). Those taken in the rookie draft only get a year. The club can extend it for a further year, and after that has to delist and redraft rookies (as happened with Thornton and Wilkes (twice!)).
McGinnity was taken in the PSD, so I'm not sure whether he had to be given a two-year deal or not.

Yeh, it was always a 1 year deal
Davis has said, that he dosnt mind coming to the eagles (when drafted), and said that he was looking forward to having a good future with the eagles
and he's my boy. Il go and visit him and tell him to stay :D
I don't think we have much to worry about, nor does he.
With him being promoted to the senior list I think it's safe to say he'll be offered a new contract + promoted to the senior list.

Exactly. He has been promoted to the senior list and his making his debut on Saturday night, which pretty much guarantees that they will promote him to the senior list next year, unless he has a couple of shocking games.
