View Full Version : Horsburgh
Ray Horsburgh is a disgrace. The quicker he leaves Essendon the better.
Last year his handling with media of Sheedy was shocking.
Then he came out boasting Essendon would get whover they wanted saying bomber thompson and mark williams would be candidates. This made EFC look foolish.
This year he comes out undermining the coaches plans.
The guy has a big mouth (to match his gut), has no grace or style with media and constantly ends up tarnishing essendon's reputation with his ramblings.
I voted pigman out last year for all these reasons. On the other hand I voted for peter jackson to stay as he is the opposite being cool, calm and professional whenever talking to the media.
At the next board meeting horsburgh should have a snooker ball stuck in his mouth pulp fiction style. Worst president of EFC ever.

i agree mate, i dont like it when he gets involved on the footy side of things and clearly has no idea about whats going on
just leave knighter and the players do what they have to do and should just worry about his own job at the club

His bumbling public performances and utterances are a major concern.

So easy to make an internet nickname for Mr. Horsburgh . . . he looks to be very uncomfortable in front of cameras and awkward in the media, looks silly and says the wrong thing.

His media appearences have been shocking as we all know but on the business side of things, he does a very good job. His contribution to the club is well worth wile, he just needs to learn that talking about players etc is for the coaches to do

"It emerged Horsburgh and new coach Matthew Knights met with chief executive Peter Jackson to patch up their differences, and draw their lines in the sand.
Jackson said the Horsburgh-Knights impasse had been resolved, with Horsburgh to no longer comment on coaching matters."
Matter closed.

how can reelected unopposed be the fault of the members...it means we had no choice in the matter. Someone else from the board, or outside, needs to step up and challenge him at the next election...

He knows he shouldn't have said what he did and he has apologised to Knights and Jackson for it.
Good enough in my opinion.
Yep, I'm more than happy for him to stay as long as he keeps to himself about football matters.
The Chairman, board, CEO and coach all seem to be on the same wavelength about the direction, development of the list, good enough for me.
