Yeah well we're hoping its a different scoreline if we get to play them again this year. And hopefully we have a few of our backmen back and a full strenth team, and then it may be a different story.
Please retract on this statement......must have been missing a few more this week? Surely W/hill folk could not be seriously thinking they can do damage if they make finals......Thanks Huntly I was probably the only one to tip you!!!

Great game, both sides had players missing.Umpiring was 2 out of ten,and last of all Longford was at his best hitting all the young blokes
Did he get reported? If these young blokes are out there they are fair game, its been happening since day dot!!!!!

That was not my point if he got reported or not,my point was on Saturday time after time he would pick out someone a lot younger than himself or not as big to give a clip around the head, but the funny thing that came out of it, he did take a backward step when one of H/Cote's senior players and just as big stood up to him.

Was that because he was fearful of being kicked in the back of the leg again?

There is too many people speaking out of school here. It was one of the best matches I have seen all year and for people to talk about what happened here and what there in regard to who belted who is crap. Lets remember it to be a great game.

Yeah my trusty Saints informer said it was a ripper, said Elmore had plenty of scoring chances that went thru the little posts but a win against the best in the business was "great for the club." Especially with 4-5 Saints to come in, who else did Elmore have out other than Hayesy?
Saints now the real deal for sure, good enough to be the Grand Final preview was it? For me don't write off Colbo, blew us away in the last quarter.

Sounds like it was a great game i think all sides should get there head around the fact that you are allways going to have at least 4 out at one time you just have to hope that its not 1 or 2 of your most important players (Eg Taylor for you blokes Doona) Side that win finals and premiership have depth

Interesting that you say that tiger.....Elmore could find themselves in a little froth and bubble if they loose a couple more to injury. Considering they had 10-13 twos players as of Friday night is a real concern for the elmore faithful....They have no depth! They cant absorb any shock from here on in I dont believe. I think this was mentioned at the start of the year when Elmore lost a heap to Marong. This last half of the year is when it may really hurt them.

watched sat game at huntly.all credit to huntly but its very hard to beat any side when your onballers refuse to work both ways.apart from joyce and wright w/hills were smashed in the middle with one or two of there well known onballers refusing to get there hands dirty until it was to late.there coach also seems to be half the player but twice the size of the footballer that left the bombers a few years back.

Ya not wrong there Tige - we missed Tayls, along with Moran, Edwards and Coomans (who played his first game in 4-5 weeks) massively on the weekend!!!

Good win by Huntly, congrats to the players and the club but I just hope they dont settle for this. Heard a few were drinking sun night like they just won the granny!
Was told on satdy night that heathcote have the 2s flag in the bag after beating Elmore and the 1s in the bag, the only team that can beat them is themselves. I think Ringy tried and do the right thing and settle the younger boys down as they are getting way ahead of them selves. As for the king, did I hear that famous pick up line on the dance floor mate?
Damian Webb, shame! I dont care if your in a brawl but kicking someone with footy boots is low! Especially when it appeared you were aiming for his jatz crackers

God Mate get over it. White Hills had a loss to the bottom team, its something that we're gonna move on from, we're looking for a big game this week - we're moving on from satdy. Full credit to the huntly boys they obviously came out firing , going in harder at the ball than us boys. It is pretty disappointing considering we have gone well against the top teams. As for bart he's been fantastic for us boys this year. He's only young and still learning new things every saturday. Why dont you give coaching a crack then mate by the sounds of it you think you can do a better job. As for the size of him , it hasnt stopped him from performing week in week out with 3 or 4 players on him in our forward line. At the end of the day hes giving things a go and you can't learn from anything if your not gonna give it a go mate.Least he's having a crack.

talking to knacker bags from the doggies on the weekend said they were trying to lure a ruckmen out from melbourne for a bit of cash through a bloke on there board, 200 clams was the bounty, said he would think about it hah ha. the bloke lined up for mounts on the weekend, he said. 200 didnt seem like much at 1.65 a litre.

Heard a story from a reliable source that Broadford have already sounded out a new coach for next year. Appears that a well known supporter and father of a couple of brothers that play/played there has sounded out his son-in-law about the possibility of him coaching the Roos next year. Looks like Doona's been set up as a baby sitter (if it wasn't obvious anyway by the way they treated him pre season) until the incumbent is appointed. Bad form I say.:thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:

i can assure yous all that if Doona is forced to leave the club next year they will be loseing alot more than just a good coach. Doon has built a good strong bond with most of the seniour players at the club and if he was to leave so would alot of the players. If this was all true im sure doon would know anyways...

Mounts had the bye on the weekend and have already got a good ruckmen. Why would North recruit a bloke for half a season, who's only coming for the money, when they have no chance of making the finals. Sounds like a waste of money to me. I think 'knacker bags' might be talking a bit of sh!t.
Hope Heathcote don't get to far ahead of themselves as I think most teams would like to see them win over Elmore, or is that just me?

TRWB, these rumours pop up every year about new committees and committee takeovers emanate down this way every year or so. There were rumours last year that a new committee was taking over, but like most of these, they're all bu11shit.
But I must say that should Doon be given the Kyber, the ar$e would fall out of the joint. Not only would players who have aformed a strong relationship with him depart so would many lucrative sponsors, as most people I've spoken to around town are rapt with the job he's doing with the kids.
Funny how the same bloke seems to be the one person who always has his name linked with the rumours that are started around this time of the year down here as well.:thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:

Interesting that Doona2 has been online today and not posted a reply to the original post. He has been very quiet about his coaching position. Would be good for the likes of Bonnie Doon, Longwood and Seymour if he is given the arse, as Im sure many players will jump the Broadford sinking ship. Personally dont think theres any substance behind the rumour other than a little noise from 1 or two.

Ha ha thanks for the reminder CD, didn't realise you cared about my thoughts ;) Unfortunately our club has a culture very much like Richmond in that at times we eat our own - I too have heard plenty of rumours (and names as possible replacements) but as Wok pointed out this $hit is spoken every year in Broady regardless of ladder positions and who is the coach.
Year 2001 Finchy got his side into a GF against Mounts, but the snipers behind the scenes had him out mid-year. Similar fate to Clears and the debacle that didn't see Rossco re-appointed was a worry at the time. These kids need stability as they learn, and constant changes in coaches bring changes in idea's which is why we have so many footballers still coming to terms with senior footy.
So if it's the case that new (old) blood jumps onbaord and Im not their desired coach then so be it - I will put eveything into these kids whilst Ive got the priviledge to coach them and as I said to them again last night "It aint just about 2008 for me - I hope that in 5-6 years I can go watch these guys, cause that will mean that theyve stuck at their footy and maybe I may have made a small contribution towards that."

You seem very disgusted with someone possibly hitting someone not the same age as them so I can only imagination the outrage you must be feeling right now that someone would stoop to such a low act of kicking an opposition player just because he had the audacity to tackle him fairly??
By the way spoke to Bill and does not believe that he hit any kids and does not believe he was confronted by anyone throughout the day. Care to explain that one as well Big Ump. Cheers Mate

Take it easy there hound.......I dont agree with a bloke kicking at all dont get me wrong...But has he been found guilty?
Was the bloke on the ground or standing up at the time.....if he was standing up I think a kick is as good as a punch in terms of being low and there have been plenty of people belt blokes......

Thanks MtMen been away, now to reply to HDFL hot shot & bloodhound i could not comment on the incident because i did not see it,i talked to a bloke who was at the tribunal last night his coments from last night were,it was accidental he tryed to kick the ball of the ground and made contact with Elmore's No 8 ankle,my bloke at the tribunal also said the reporting umpire who saw the incident was 50 meters away the other central umpire had his back to the incident, and boundry umpire who was only 3 meters from the incident did not see a thing.

Got a fair idea that the incident in question might be plastered all over page 12 of the McIvor Times and definitely shows King on the ground and the ball not too far from his legs. Totally agree with you Mudwump, one of the best right hooks I've ever seen from an Elmore bloke on to one of our smaller blokes followed by some decent retaliation right in front of one of the umpires was about when the umpiring went to complete shite. Rochester need to be asked the question as to why they would send down inexperienced kids to the match of the day by both clubs and the league.:thumbsd:

Tips for this week boys.
Elmore by 72 points over the Hawks.
The Saints by 21 over Toolleen.
The Hillies by 17 over the Dogs.
LBU by 45 over the Roo Boys.
That was not my point if he got reported or not,my point was on Saturday time after time he would pick out someone a lot younger than himself or not as big to give a clip around the head, but the funny thing that came out of it, he did take a backward step when one of H/Cote's senior players and just as big stood up to him.
If you saw these incidents then back it up and name some names. I didn't see Bill give one cheap shot all day.
To you HDFL hot shot & bloodhound you should be ashamed of yourselfs for more or less saying the young bloke was guilty even before he went to the tribunal.I will stand by what everelse i have wrote that you two do not like.
So you're telling everyone here that you saw multiple incidents of Bill clipping younger blokes around the head, and you are more than happy to crucify him for it on this forum, yet when it comes to one of your own who was found guilty at the tribunal, you didn't see the incident.
It is rather strange though that two men can stand toe to toe in the middle of the ground and swing at each other and not get reported.

Can see there is a bit going on between Elmore and Heathcote or should i say a lot being said, i am sure that the team that will have the last laugh will be the team holding up the cup i hope the players dont loose sight of that

Joshy Walter in for his first game mate. Dano went really well in the first half, then faded out a bit in the second, but over all not bad for his first senior game for the club.:thumbsu:

Broady's season on the line this week against the Hill Billies and a big game at Colbo with LBU visiting. Can Huntly really finish off Mounts season and pull off there second win of the season? Hope Dalton gave his pay check back yesterday. Toweled up by Middleton.

Your kidding yourself I hope Roota. Dalton was a disgrace. Ive got a smaller turning circle than him and thats only just shy off a B Double. He probably kicked 3 points from his 3 kicks for the day, now had he converted those three kicks mounts still loose. He never looked like kicking a goal. he is not the answer im affraid. No impact at all.

Mate i never said "if Dalton kicked straight Mounts win" did I??? I just said that if he had kicked straight then Middletons game doesn't look as good does it. I counted 6 shots on goal from the big fella, which is not a bad result first up, just a pity a few of them didn't go through the big ones

I heard he kicked 8 points from 2 Mount Pleasants players.
Give the big fella a few weeks and he will come good.

Incorrect. Clearly didnt kick 8 points. Didnt have 8 kicks. Mounts dont have a few weeks for him to start firing. Season is on the line now!

Agree totally Egg. He wouldn't have touched the ball eight times and some of those shots he had Roota were always going to be beyond his capabilities. No way known he kicked eight points and in the one on one's, Sonny had it over him. How's the old man Egg?
Howd ya night end up Satdy Fridge? Both times his season that man Newth has been the difference, 6 important goals - still can't believe he was actually rotated thru the bench in the 2nd term
Must say we were hoping he was injured but alas he returned to keep producing the goods :thumbsu:
Called past Toolleen on the trip home to hear one of the locals actually say "Heathcote are the real deal" and the only thing that will beat them is themselves.
I tend to agree they're Elmore's #1 threat ;)

well then tiny dancer , I should have known that . Did you get to the Tanunda vs Gawler clash ? I hear wizard was on the fizz with ex-hawthorn champion Jonny ( the rat ) Plattern . Well to give you an update justin Cantwell ( canters or Lopey ) he's off to play schoolboys this school holidays , but as for a senior game they may swing him in for a taste but at united we have a plethora of speedy 5'6" wingman so there is not much point .

big game this week between colbo and lbu- whats your prediction nesko?
This will give everyone something to argue about. Assume a interleague game against LVFL was scheduled for this weekend. Would the team be:
Carrol Schubert Wright
Joyce Jess Long
Millard Grant Knight
Gee Meldrum Baker
Waters Hill Hayes
Black Morgan Cail
Int From - Featherstone, Craig, Carter, Shannon, Treacy, Collins, Douglas
One thing isn't arguable - it would beat LVFL comfortably.

Westley, Schubert, Joyce
Carrol, Jess, Millard

Big side! Waters, Hill and Hayes across forward line, who will rove? I think Newth should b given a spot!
Ring, Pritchett, Sawyer, Cavallo, P. O'brien, Wes, C.Long, Sargent, Jacobs, Jackson must also been thrown up. Hayden Collins? on the bench, young fella is good but has only played 7-8 games.
Question, how come when there are inter-league teams named people always name the big players, I just dont know how Sam "Grug" Newth couldn be put in the side, has performed week in week out over a number of years and has been one of the leagues best since LBU joined the comp. He has kicked 40 this year as a small forward rotating through the guts (Gee 40, Hayes 47, Hill 52 are the only ones equal or beating him. Sawyer 35, Waters 33, Watson 29 are all below him)
Broady: 7th position, 1 player
Elmore: 1st position, 4 players
Colbo: 2nd position, 2 players
Heathcote: 3rd position, 7 players
Huntly: 9th position, 1 player
LBU: 4th position, 3 players
Mounts: 5th position, 4 players
North: 8th position, 1 player
WH: 7th position, 2 players

now that would be a nasty thing to do.
bazil there was a saints theme at the cri a couple of weeks ago when the heathcote boys turned up after the locky game to do awards and have a feed. i estimated about 50 or so people.
will be interesting to see what sort of turn out the locky boys can offer !!
