View Full Version : brauns back page article in the west.
bit sad to read. has conceded that his running wingman days are over however he will do all he can to find some form. feel for him considering hes had 14 operations and probably was one of our underrated players in the past 3-4 years. hopefully he can gain some form and go out on top.

Haven't read it, anyone got a link.
Braun has been great for our club over his career, but sadly this will be his last year. He is losing his spot to the younger players, but thats the way things go. I think he has been with us for 12-13 years, and has been a great contributer, but seen nothing from his this season.
Hope everything goes alright for him after footy, because he seems like a great guy

his knee is screaming for the end! He looks in pain every week!
That said, would love to see him sitting next to Woosha in the box come 2011 or so! :thumbsu: :)

The paper said his wife is pregnant... Bring on 2027, we could have another Braun running around for us :D
Put him in the around stoppages.
Has grunt but no speed.
Would be a handy assest I feel.
Love ya Brauny!

Sad whats happened to him, without a doubt has been very good to the club and always tries his best every game no matter what. You'd say this is his last year, strange considering his really not that old but those old injuries are catching on.

Poor Brauny, all his injuries are catching up to him.
Love the bloke and it's a sad sight to see him slowly sliding to the bottom end of the 22 - he has been a great clubman and unfortunately his efforts over his career have largely gone unnoticed to everyone that doesn't have a particular interest in west coast.
Brauny and Wirra, both nearing the end of their careers, are two blokes that we'll be feeling the loss of. Great Leaders and Role Models both on and off the field, hopefully they'll still play a significant part in the club because as our team gets younger and younger, we're going to need some level-headed individuals around the club - Cox, Glass and Stinga can't do it alone.
I know players come and go but still, It'll be a sad day that's for sure.

It may be time for Brauny to hang up the boots especially considering the situation the team is in at the moment. We need to bring in youngsters and if he is struggling to play week in week out then he should take the initiative and retire before he is dropped. Its very very harsh I know and I have been a big fan for Brauny in that passed but we need to be realistic ala Hawks 05.
I hope he has one more year left in him. Its all we need really. He is a veteran. Leave Radar on the rookie list one more year and promote him with Braun as the emergency leaving us one more draft pick this year

Agree he's been underrated. He's been a workman-like star in his own right for us.
I don't want to see him go as he's always been one of my favourite Eagles but it's looking like it mgiht be the right decision for him to make. It's sad to see him struggle like that.
He has been struggling all year. The vibe i got from the article was that he was going to retire at the end of the year. I guess it is better for him to retire now than half way through next year.

I always loved watching his hard run and effort putting him in contests against taller opposition and force a 50-50 ball. That usually ended up meaning that with the help coming we won the ball. Shame our injuries hasn't allowed him to play a different role - maybe forward flank. Hopefully getting guys back (eg Butler) will allow the role to shift slightly.

i used to know a chick that came from echuca as well, she was a very neat and tiday package i might add but i digress, she moved to perth and knew Brauny but really couldnt care less about footy, even then (about 5 years ago) she said he absolutely loved the club and would never go back to play in melbourne.
His afl career is nearly over, no doubt about that but he could provide to the kids coming through is invaluable and in his day he would rack up 30 possessions and you wouldnt even know it.
been a fantastic player for the eagles...
