What do people think about the seating arrangements at afl matches at Telstra Dome. Round 8 Saints v Pies was apparently sold out apart from standing room according to ticketmaster. 48k rocked up what a load of shit. I reckon those who have reserved seats and dont rock up should not be allowed access again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like every other venue in the country. Unless St Kilda have a seat resale scheme (which I doubt given their home matches hardly ever sell out) there is precisely squat you can do about it.

Mods might want to move this to the AFL board as well.

For all those stupid people claiming their membership grants them access to 11 games, it does! We knew 6, yes, 6 weeks ago that this game was ticketed. It's simple, buy a bloody ticket!

And for those 9,000 empty seats and people wanting them to go back on sale to the public, what happens if someones train is cancelled? What happens if someone finishes work an hour late and go to see the last half? It simply doesn't work!

There were 6,000 empty seats, not 9,000. And if you plan to attend the game, even from half-time, the solution is blindingly simple. Don't put your seat up for re-sale! But for those that don't intend to show up, they should be able to re-sell their seats on for some part financial reward.

But people DID buy tickets. The game was a sell out - yet only 48,500 attended, leaving 6,000 unused seats. That's the problem. There needs to be a resale scheme to avoid this.

And another thing - Docklands is now too small for Collingwood games against other Victorian based clubs. At only #54,500 capacity, its just too small too accomodate the Collingwood hordes - as pointed out on the Collingwood board - http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=444588

Finally, this thread should be moved to the main board - it isn't about AFL expansion.
