Out: Graham

Graham out and if we have someone with better disposal and more discipline, Nicoski should be on his way out too.
both of these players = tradebait.

Can't drop Rosa unless Jmac comes up.
Can't drop Embers who'd you replace him with.
Drop Lynch for who? Cones injured and Hansen is a hack try a kid?
Fletcher was actually quite good.
Critical mistakes at critical times. Usual shit. Season's well and truly gone.

why would you consider dropping any of them anyway?
Rosa was shocking with some of his disposals tonight but did enough to keep his spot imo. Embley, Lynch, Fletcher, all played well. Apart from a couple of lazy efforts from Fletch and Lynchy - there's no reason to drop them after tonight at all.

Out: Graham, Nico
In: Wilkes, Waters
Quite simply,
OUT Graham
IN Waters. If not fit Spangher.
Nico did a good lockdown job but yes was costly with some turnovers.
One last chance from me Mark.
Special mention to Chad Fletcher, looked interested again, played well.
As did Embers who looks to have found a new role coming out the backline.

Out: Graham, Nico
In: Spangher, ??
Can't play too many youngsters in Houlihan or we'll just get smashed, but someone has to offer more to the team than consistent turnovers.
So I can't see there being too many changes. I get the feeling one of the youngsters will be dropped from the team, even though it'd be a bit harsh.
Out: Nico (needs time but how long before we loose it totaly with him)
In: Waters
Also we dont mind playing debuts then dropping the following week. If so Davis is out Nico will remain..
Graham sux but against the older Adelaide bodies we need the mature bodies so he will stay instead of Sphanger coming in.

Wilkes has been impressive in the WAFL and really does deserve a chance at CHB.

Definitely want Graham out, for Spangher..
How long for Butler and LeCras?
wce_all_da_way
17 May 2008, 23:12
Selwood perhaps Wally?
Nah I wouldn't chuck him back in personally. Not great WAFL form, giving him an easy game is not the answer. Also looks to need a bit more time to develop, even though he's shown some very good signs at senior level.
OUT: Nicoski, Graham
IN: Anyone
i'd keep nico in, he done a few turn overs but he held his opponent well
graham.....yeah, drop him now PLEASE! he got beaten countless times in the air and on the lead.
out - graham

We should be playing Spangher ahead of Graham at every opportunity.
Agree Gunnar, Graham isn't a part of our future plans I wouldn't have thought. Struggled badly tonight, Spangher wouldn't have played any worse and gained some valuable experience in a game that was actually closefor once.
Rosa was god-awful...graham was worse.

Exactly. Even then I didn't think Spangher deserved to be dropped originally. Some are calling pretty heavily for Wilkes but I rate Spangher over him for the future. Would prefer Wilkes to Graham though.
i liked schofield's game, for a guy in his 6th game he played quite a nice defensive game on corey jones.
everyone faded in the 3rd qtr.
good to see staker have a good game.
also ryan davis looks like one worth persisting with, seems to attack the ball well.
masten = gun
kennedy = gun
ebert is coming along nicely too, was in and under.
rosa besides a few ____ups was in tight as well, i was impressed.
overall we werent too bad, just need to work on a few things. i hope for minimal changes this week, you cant win when you make 4 a week.

Get Nicoski out asap... free kicks, 50 meter penalties and fumbles which result in turnovers.
P.S Can someone post our injured/suspended players... i've lost track of all of them :S

For those us without vision tonight, how were Embley, Braun and Fletcher? Heard Embley get pleenty of mentions on the radio.
I thought Wilkes took up Braun's spot on the senior list when Braun moved to the vet's list.......If correct then Wilkes is able to play!
embley was very good in the backline, rebound 50s, inside 50s...kicked 3 behinds, would've topped off his game
braun tried hard and was in the play, didnt get much free space. i thought he contributed.
fletcher was one of our best players, 29 touches and used the ball well. found space and set up other players. top game by him.
No, Wilkes is on the senior list because Braun is a veteran.
Fletcher and Embley were very good. In particular, Fletcher played really well. Braun try hard, its just his body is not up to anymore.

17 May 2008, 23:54
Jeez Graham shoudnt be in the side, showing absolutely nothing yet they persist in him (maybe to get a half decent trade out of him to which hes not exactly excelling at).
The Spang deserve another go, showed a fair bit of promise then was dropped. Also would like to see Wilkes (never seen him play) have a go.
Pretty shit we have to play Adelaide so soon. Hopefully a much better scoreline than 7 weeks ago.

I want to see Spangher play more.
His name will be fun to yell.
Like HUUUUNNTTAAAAAAAA, but better.
For those us without vision tonight, how were Embley, Braun and Fletcher? Heard Embley get pleenty of mentions on the radio.
Embley was quite good I thought, has had a couple of good games now, kicked 0.3 which was dissapointing, got a fair bit of the ball and played in defence as well, doing a good job there.
Fletcher got a lot of the ball from sideways kicks and handballs, turned it over a couple of times, but I thought he played pretty well.
Braun didn't do much at all, just 11 touches, and rarely had an impact, except when he gave away a stupid free kick in the last seconds of the third quarter. :thumbsd:
Still amazed we are playing Adelaide again without having played others yet.
this draw is spooooooooooooooky

Geez you're in a jovial mood tonight Gunnar.
It will be fun though, can take a mark Spang. Apparently took MOTY at WAFL level last weekend.
Agree with most posters - Graham got handed a great opportunity when Hunter went down and I thought he got slaughtered by the resting ruckman tonight.
Torn on Nico - made some absolute howling mistakes but his opponent had very little influence
Davis looked OK from limited game time - I would give him another crack.
All others that might have been under the pump really stood up (particularly Staker and Fletch).
So, for me:
Out: Graham
In: Wilkes

Beau Waters thigh 1 week?
Daniel Kerr suspension 1 week
Jmac thigh 1 week?
LeCras groin 2 weeks?
Hansen hamstring 2 weeks?
hurn broken fibula 3 weeks
Butler regaining form in WAFL from OP 3 weeks
Adam Hunter PCL 4 weeks
Chad Jones ankle 5 weeks
Mitchell Brown knee ACL season

Oh that one.
Nothing in it.
Does anyone know how Butler went for Perth today? Also Scott Selwood, heard he got injured (eye or concussion)?
Seriously does it matter who we bring in next week?
May as well play the same team.
Adelaide are too good at the moment.

Did anyone see Ryan Davis chasing Matt Campbell when he kicked a goal in the second qtr. I would rate Campbell as a very quick player but he closed on him like it was nothing. Too bad he had too much of a head start. Very good signs though Davis has blistering pace.

Can't believe people are sticking up for Matt Rosa still.
Deserves to be dropped - then given his marching orders back home. Causes far too many turnovers and is far too slow and indecisive to be considered WCE material. Sad to say, but his form has regressed so much that he's a liability on the field.

Although put very harshly, I tend to agree with you. Have been saying this all season.

I might be a tad pissed and wishing I was out chasing tail but Rosa and Fletcher were bloody awful.
Fletcher: Senior player whose skills are poor under pressure and in space, and who doesn't find enough contested ball.
Rosa: Relatively young runner who relies on uncontested ball to impact the game whose disposal skills are poor.
Would rather see McNamara & S Selwood given a go instead of these two. Considering North is one of the sides where you would want him in, Graham was also pretty disappointing tonight. Nicoski was alright, don't know why so many are after his blood. Who else would shut down Campbell& Thomas?

You may be. Fletcher was very good.
The call about him not getting enough contested ball is pretty irrelevant as it isn't his role in the side, same with Rosa.
Rosa was appalling however, as was Nicoski
WTf... why are we versing Adelaide again... did we not play them in round 2... it's only been 6 rounds
We play Melbourne for the first time in Round 20
Out: Nicoski, Graham (perhaps Davis, pending fitness of others)
Those two were were beaten at the contest (Graham more so), Graham was destroyed in the aerial contests, fumbled a lot, turned the ball over from half back, and Nicoski gave away silly free kicks all night. Very hard to win a game when you cant clear the ball from defence.
In: Waters (fitness pending) / Selwood, Wilkes
Wilkes deserves his shot, has been dominating the WAFL, and there is no harm in getting Selwood a couple more games under his belt. At least he will be disciplined and provide a strong contest.
I thought Rosa was good tonight, he is a lot harder than he has been the last few years, and he provides the link and run through the middle that we need.

I call it WAFLitis. When you play WAFL for so long it takes a while for you to realise you have to play the game in 3 gears cos in general WAFL is played at a steady pace the whole game
IN: Wilkes Waters
OUT: Graham Nicoski
Please move Braun away from a wing and into the centre. Nicoski is getting better I feel but needs a whole month in the WAFL to get some control over his disposal of the ball. His defending is improving and is fine. Once he gets that disposal back he can be the old Nico we loved and were waiting to get fit for so long
WAFL = sh!t.
Its the same as any reserves league especially when you play in it as long as Graham has. It takes over a month to change your style but he doesnt have a month to do it

There seems to be a few posters on here wanting S. Selwood in. He has done little to impress with Perth and should have to earn his place in the Eagles.
According to the radio, Butler had 20 second-half possessions for Perth on the weekend.

Dont think there is bigger Fletcher basher than myself but I agree Lachy, his game last night was very good, solid even. Hardly made any "Flangers" (Fletcher Clangers)and ran hard all night. I was impressed.
Wasnt our worst Scotty, Nicko was worse in terms of turnovers, but did indeed lockdown his opponent very well.
As Embers said when his disposal comes back we should old Mark Nicoski back in action. Im givin Nicko one more week.

What about moving Nico to the HHF on Johncock/Mcleod this w.e? He might be able to nab a goal or 2 and any errors or frees he gives away will not be as damaging to us up forward. If he goes alright it would do wonders for his confidence. Waters and Davis can get first go on the little guys in defence and with embers down there we have a good blend.

Nicoski's kicking and general ability is so overrated it's not funny. He dosen't even deserve a game at Subi.
U cant play guys in different positions knowing that they will make mistakes and that being away from the oppositions goals is better.
Just leave him out or get him into it more!

He is going to make mistakes wherever he plays. We need someone to man johncock and/or mcleod. Its actually not that difficult to work out. Similar to my request at the start of the year that embers play they creative role of the half back line. Sometimes you need to think outside the box.

I think Nicoski has improved every single week. Moving him to HFF has some merit in my opinion, because if he could snag a couple of goals on the run from outside 50, it would do wonders for his confidence and he has the capacity to score those types of goals.

Might as well try everything BM as what we are doing aint working and the Roos played like Sh*t so imagine if they played well what would have happend. Also Yes if playing the little leaguers for the rest of the year means that we find a gem or 2 then why the bloody hell not. We all know that a rookies body isn't as developed as a 5 yr player and that they may burn out if we over use them, so use them in 5 week spands, they get experiance, we get to see if they have talent and we are stronger in 2009.
