I know you Sydneysiders won't really give a hoot about this but for us Melbourne lads and ladies the coverage was delayed until 3 when it was live above the border. Absolute crapola.
I'm about to get on SEN and have a bitch about it.

I wasn't too pissed off about the delayed coverage BUT.... Is it really necessary to have 1.5 minutes of adds after every f***ing goal? Also it would be nice to get a bit more post match coverage than hearing the sound of the siren promptly followed by some sponsors logos and the evening news.

This is exact reason why they delay the telecast. 1 ad between goals when live, or 45 ads between goals when on delay. Absolute rubbish by channel 7 to do that. The other thing is unless it's 1 of the big 4 vic teams we don't even get on TV on a Sunday.....:thumbsd:

I mentioned all that ^^^ when I was on just before, I just find it ridiculous that they cut straight to the news without an interview or song... and the ads arrrgh!!! :mad:

It is a disgrace, I had to watch the showdown this year under the same circumstances as my foxtel was out. It made me appreciate foxtel.
The broadcasting is stupid now. In Adelaide we get the Port away game on foxtel and commercial concurrently and not a different game!

i can't stand prissy bruce at the best of times, but throw in that fckwit schwarz and ... i know there's been threads on the main board devoted to the stream of inanities "ox" puts out every game, but the anti-sydney sentiment yesterday surprised me
cometti's good but not good enough to make up for macavaney and ox with him
and of course there's the ads

11 of our remaining games are on Fox,thank god there are no more games on 7 this year which means we don't have to listen to the Ox's bias against the Swans.

personally i didnt really mind, coz in the hour before hand in footy flashbacks got to reminisce the great 1996 prelim v essendon and how awesome captain kelly was

It's not anti Sydney, it's Pro Victorian. I have ntoiced it on the commercial stations we my boys play a Vic side, the commentary seems slanted and biased to them.
I guess when our clubs are the minority, it's gonna happen.
To me foxtel commentators seem to be the only neutral unbiased commentators going around!

obviously i don't see as many games featuring vic sides and other interstate teams but i do understand
i seriously try to not become acutely anti-victorian, especially now living here, but it's hard being bombarded with so much blatantly pro-vic stuff, especially on radio

The ox is a tool. He can bag us if he likes but as long as we get the results i know im happy. We were bagged in 05' and did ok that year!
