im not s hawks supporter but when i see the hawks play he uses the ball very well and kicks the odd goal here and there and does the 1 %s
i dont think many ppl rate him as a player(some hawk supporters i know and other team supporters)

First round this year......Ozzie wasn't in our 22, came in as an emergency and has never
looked back.

Has been one of the reasons we have been so impressive, he along with Bateman are having Career best seasons they have both stepped up massively.

shhhhhhhhhh.

He is not going to be underated if we write him up as a hero on this board.

Throw in Suzi and we have a perfect package that may take the heat of us salary cap wise when the Gold Coasters come looking for some home grown talent.

As i have mentioned before new clubs starting from scratch looking to be competitive early doors with a huge amount of early picks can make some big mistakes.:thumbsu:

Ozzie was showing some excellent signs early last season before he was seriously injured.

His goal kicking has improved out of sight! One of the best kicks at goal in the team for sure.

Twice on saturday (and against north if I remember) and perhaps a few other occasions we have been spraying it and almost choking when he has cooly come in and slotted one.

Like barnard in the 2000 gf

Mate six weeks ago there were many many posters who wanted him gone.

Has always had ability, just seemed to be dumb in regards to footy smarts. So often he gave away free kicks from dumb acts of bravado for no reason. I hated him at the start of the year, and I am again eating humble pie over how well he is playing. Fact is, he is contributing very very well at the moment. Good on him.

Love the way he has come on and really stepped it up this season . I would say he has racked up plenty of votes for our B&F and maybe even a couple of Brownlow votes this season

Definite lock for us every week

Has all the traits and tricks to be an elite A grader and will become one IMO...

Outstanding year, tough as nails, great skills both sides, can take a hanger, kick a goal, tackles and has kept his silly free kick habits in check this year..

Is having an outstanding year...:thumbsu:

In response to Osborne apparently not being in our 22 round 1, pretty sure that was actually Clarke that came in late but the media stuffed that up and said Ozzie was the late inclusions.Ozzie is a coaches favourite, and was always going to play.

I've always like him, but he has always seem to let himself down.

I thought he was judged a bit harshly over the years, did so many good team things, but would only get remembered for his negatives, although I admit they were frustrating.

Had his first proper pre-season this year, and looks the goods. He was actually in very good form last year until being injured which people forget, but this is his best year without a doubt.

Adds defensive pressure, does the team things, hard at it, and kicks the important goal a goal in pressure situations.

A good player to be rounding out the last few spots in the team.

I've been known to pump our guys up at times, but this is getting silly isn't it?

Surely Elite A graders are the best few players in each position in the competition. Many would say that Sewell is nearing that level as an onballer, but needs to continue as-is for the rest of this year and have a very good finals series to take the step.

Osborne is miles from that level in any position isn't he?

At the moment yes he is far from it but lets see,

I'd go as far as to say Ozzie is a better Mark, Kick ( off both feet), shot on goal and general skills then Sewelly.

Would be on a par for aggression and running ability, but Sewelly has him covered in footy Smarts, strength, Tackling and winning contested possesion.

IMO Ozzie has all the traits to be an A grader, has all the skils, mongrel and speed, there is some work to be done with his consistency and discipline but geez he has all the tools.

I can't see why he couldn't develop into an A grader if he applied himself, has alot of tricks to his game....more then most.:thumbsu:

11 Goals 2 behinds off the top of my head. Too lazy to check.

If only Buddy could kick like that :)

I always saw it in him, just could never really get it right.... In round one when i saw him run out, I knew he was ready, could tell... previous years he would have his head drooped over, and seemed disinterested. This year he runs out with pride, and head held high.

We'll see. Am hoping he does. I would put Hodge, Mitch, Franklin, Croad and Brown as our A graders. Crawf's dropped from an A to a B now for mine. Sewell and Lewis are the two that are the next closest for mine. I would then expect Birch to take that step. Ellis, Roughie, Willo, Ossie, etc are all a fair way off IMO.

Ossie has always been a fave of mine. I just love the way he plays.

He always slots the goals in crucial parts of the game.

Ossie has always had teh skills and footy smarts, he had a bad run of injuries for a couple of years in a row and only completed his first full preseason this year and it shows. Very courageous player and plays above his size, can take a good grab, use both sides of his body and can run - has reasonable pace but seems to have good endurance this year. I think he suffered from the old ostitis pubis (whatever it is) for a couple of seasons.

Love the way he plays, is reliable and a hard nut!

Interesting observation:confused: Can't say i have ever seen that side of him. If anyone in the team was ALWAYS INTERESTED and up for it, it was deffo Ozzy! I have never seen him give up on a game, contest or loose ball no matter what the situation. His only downfall in the past was that he was over enthusiastic, got frustrated too easily and gave away terrible free kicks, perhaps when the rest of the team was not up for it like he was!

No doubt on field he was enthusiastic, but pre and post match he seemed disinterested. I have always seen the way players act pre match as a great indication of a players performance ability.
