I have noted that this year we are now up to our fourth soft tissue injury, im not sure if there are any others from bh. Just wondering whether its something in the training regime, or these are just occurring naturally. For memory didnt we have this problem acouple of years ago?
I actually reckon four isn't that many.
It's an unbelievably strenuous game, and the good players (which we have lots of!) push themselves to extreme physical limits. No amount of preparation is going to 100% safeguard you from the risks.
I don't have the stats, but apart from a few high profile hamstrings, i think we're faring pretty well injury-wise *touches lots and lots of wood*
It's a long season. As long as our key guys are up and running come September, I'll be happy.

When a team runs and runs and runs like ours does during a match, soft tissue injuries are inevitable. 4 is not much at all, especially as one was not during a match, one was form a guy returning from a yr off. We are doing great in the injury front, but not so well that people cant contribute success to lack of injuries (circa Geelong 2007)

Yep this is what the hawks have lacked over the past few seasons the ability to cover injuries to major players. The constant suspensions and injuries allow the club to play younger players who would not otherwise get a game with our side as strong as it is. This week I would imagine a youngster will debut unless the in's for maglynn crawf and goo
Clarke
Murphy

I am hoping to maybe see Kennedy this week

It has nothing to do with a training staff when considering last year the majority of our injuries were clash or severe injuries with out being soft tissue. There is nothing wrong with Stokes a first year rookie, and Dew overweight returning to football, having the odd soft tissue injury it is more common as their training years would be down to minimal. But tough to see Goo and Hodge do their hammy.
I reckon it's a bit of bad luck.We were doing ok at the start

Why would we not rest guys periodically, particularly guys like Dew?
