Brad Smith is a gun, he kicked 126 goals last year in the WAFL for Subiaco, plus BOG in the Grand Final and this year in 8 games has kicked 44 goals. He is 28 and was on th Eagles list but had 2 knee reco's in 2 years, then they delisted him.
He would be another Medhurst type pick, who we could get in a late pick. I think he could kick around 50 goals per season for 5 years.

Not what we need at all. Have loads of small forwards and we don't need a guy with dodgey knees. Midfielders please:)

Considering this draft is by all accounts a midfielders draft, I think we need to draft 4-5 mids... including Cousins.

Hey Brad, bad news about the knees.

Nick Sauntner would probably kick 120 goals a year in the WAFL.

Subiaco is a better team this year than a WAFL all stars team (minus subi players) would be. Many have been saying that the current Subi list would beat a few AFL teams this year..... So Brad is getting it fairly easy.

But in saying that, I still wish the AFL allowed the eagles to re-draft him as a overage rookie (like they allowed Rama back into the bombers) since he had never played an AFL game..... BUT NOOOOoooo.

And I hear the AFL are thinking of allowing this rule anyway once the GC team enters the comp.....:thumbsd:

1) Hes a employee of West Coast

2) He wouldnt enter the draft

3) He cant train at all and wont make it through the whole WAFL season such are his bad knees

4) If he ever played a season of AFL he would of kicked 50+ easily

He is a Big FF not a small forward

he's actually said himself that he wouldn't be able to stand up to AFL competition.

Agree. We simply must get mids, mids and more mids.

And maybe another ruckman just for luck.

Already been changed, so he could be rookied. But he has already said he is done trying for AFL.

wafl is a pretty good competition

and subiaco are by far the best non afl team in australia
they are just ridiculously good
its the equivalent of watching an afl grade team play a vfl team

im certain they are better then the eagles and dockers at the moment

Nah mate not a chance.. Even the worst players on the eagles 22 usually rip it up in the WAFL.. Just look at how good Priddis was as an 18/19 year old in the WAFL - and he has come a long way since then!! And some VFL sides would tear Subi apart in my opinion.. Imagine the Geelong 2's playing Subi - it would be an absolute joke..

Subi are just so much better than the others in the WAFL as recent AFL drafts have not robbed them of as much of their young talent when compared to other sides (eg. East Freo) and there are questions being raised about possible player payment breaches..

Brad Smith was a gun but sadly had his AFL career ruined by knee injuries - such a shame as he had great talent..
