Hi

I am heading down to see the Richmond game (from Brisbane).

I am a Richmond fan and i am sure you dont want me to sitting next to you yelling and screaming....:)

As i have never been to the SCG before i am wondering if any regulars can recomend the best place to sit as a Richmond Fan. Hopefully in some Silver seats.

Looking forward to the game....

Thanks for your help :thumbsu:

Sorry haven't been to the SCG since the redevelopment. The opposition cheer squad used to sit at 1 or 2 bays in front of the old hill, and then near a pocket at the Paddington end when the new stand was under construction. Not sure about now.

I think the Richmond cheersquad sits in Bay 3, or maybe 4?

No idea where the best seats to sit are.. I've sat in the same seat for years now so I don't remember what it is like to sit anywhere else.

Anywho, have fun!

Btw, is that Milo Ventimiglia in your avatar? Aw.

Ask my friends on the Richmond Board ... LOL. Just asking a question. Thanks for back me up Malceskifan.....

natlovestheswans - That is Milo. But i call him Peter....haha. I am a huge fan or Heroes and they dont come much better then him. He makes me question my sexuality......HAHAHA. Only one other person does that for me and he wears Yellow and Black. Hopefully i scream his name a couple of times at the game.

Thanks heaps guys....Well apart from Footbrawler

Opposition supporters are seated in Bay 4. I should know, I was moved from my seats to let opposition supporters in during the renovations.

BTW, you weren't the Richmond fan that came down from Qld to spit at Frawley a few seasons back were you? :p

(Please don't take offence. Just having a joke. Hope you enjoy your trip, just not too much as far as the game is concerned.) :o

If you think about it, it's just a piece of practical advice. And you seemed a bit exasperated at not getting a quick enough response on the Swans board.

I didn't mean to offend anyone so don't take it that way. Maybe I'm wrong in thinking Richmond fans might know where they are planning to sit.

Anyhow, enjoy the game.

Depends whether you want to sit with the contingency of Richmond fans, cos that sure as hell won't be the best available seats. Personally I always sit directly behind the goal in the front row of the MA Noble stand - best seats in the house imo.

LVT, Since the stand redevelopment started, the visiting cheer squad has been allocated Bay 4. Terrace seating in the forward pocket. The GA section of the ground is (app) bays 13-20, in front of the new stand, the old hill if you like. This is where the blow ins, partygoers and first timers mostly go plus most visiting fans. I believe that is why so many visitng fans come away with poor impressions of the Sydney crowd. There will be reserved seating available in most stands and the other terraces, these are seats not taken up by Swans members, if you take one of those up you will be surrounded by Swans members. I agree with Costanza, the MA Noble is terrific - I sit there too. But you will need to get an eligible Swans member or SCG member to arrange a guest pass.

HAHA. Na that wasnt me. But i would spit on him now. Does anyone else hate ex-coaches that talk as if they know what the current coaches should be doing. I.E Tony Shaw and Danny Frawley.

They were sacked because they dont know anything.

And i will have fun at the game. I WILL BE THE ONE SINGING. It will go a little something like this...

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHERE FROM TIGERLAND.....and there will be a YELLOW AND BLACK in there as well.

Just is case you want to say hello.

THANKS AGAIN. LOOK OUT FOR ME IN BAY 4.

I have a lot of time for Danny Frawley I think he has a great footy mind and thought the fan spitting on him was disgraceful. Every coach goes through lean times which doesn't mean that they can't coach they are just the first to blame. Anyway you would know Richmond far more intimately than I but I don't think Danny Frawley was the reason you weren't playing great footy.

i can honestly tell you d.frawley has been richmonds worst coach in the last 50 years....................

not because his coaching record, but the way he totally decimated the rfc list, was only concerned about his job & was happy to build a team that was middle of the road.

tradeing our 1st & 2nd round picks for has been players.
thats wy we currently dont have any leaders at richmond in the 22-27 age bracket
all our leaders are in their 30,s johnston, brown, richo, bowden which are the survivors of the frawley holucost (spelling).

but to thinkthat frawley also prefered fiora to pavlich tops it all off.

Hi all.

I too am going to this game, making the trip from Melbourne.

Obviously I too wanna be sitting with fellow Tiger ferals, which I believe is Bay 4. Looking at the Ticketek map, there are more than 1 Bay 4 areas, so my question:

Is the allocated away supporters Bay 4 the bay underneath the Dally Messenger stand? I think it's a 'silver' area.

Thanks in advance swannies...

Correct. You're under the Dally Messenger Stand just inside the 50m arc there on the fence.

I hope Tigers fans can take it if they dish it out .. WBD fans couldn't ..

They're supposed to be a pretty good crowd, this is my first year in Bay 3 and I've heard pretty good things about them so far :)

We have our fair share of ferals, don't worry about that. The official cheer squad a good sports but our grog squad members are a bit of a worry...not sure how many of them are/will be making the trip as the majority would be on government benefits therefore wouldn't be able to afford the journey...we'll know more come 1pm on Sunday...:D

You guys are by far the most mature posters on Big Footy :thumbsu:

I don't know if it's all the success you've had recently or your location (only team in the state) but I am surprised at how pleasant the Sydney posters all seem to be. And it is nearly all of them.

Now teach me the polite way to say expect a belting this week :D

It has been mentioned briefly but I thought I'd better issue a warning to the Sydney group. Most Richmond supporters are fine, passionate and have gone through many years of hurt. Will dish out a bit but will take it back.

There is a developing fan group however, maybe getting a bad wrap and maybe provoked but it is worth noting, called the grog squad.

If they make the trip please be aware they should not be provoked and best left alone. There was an incident at the Richmond V Hawks game and fairly or not the consensus from the Melbourne media is the grog squad were to blame.

just seriously keep your eyes open if this group make the trip. But like I said the vast majority of Richmond supporters are fine people and the purpose of this was not to denigrate Richmond as a group.

I'm pretty sure they aren't girl bashers, haha. But I do like to talk to opposition fans, mainly before the game as they're getting ready. The name grog squad does speak in volumes though, so I'll stay away from the ferality and stick to the more sensible characters :)
