View Full Version : bloody showdown votes
Any chance the Kangaroos would take Stevens back and give us Carey? They can have Kane Johnson too.
Why didn't Biglands ruck in the 2nd half?
Those bastards won't beat us in the finals.
Bickley

Nah don't say that about Stevens and Johnson.
Can't complain about the game that much, played out the way it would, and we put in a good effort.
Shows it isn't a two horse race.

Probably agree with those (although you likely wouldn't care:p), with the exception of McLeod... nowhere near his damaging self. Ladhams and Bode worked their asses of all day, and Biglands should be commended for his work and probably broke even with Primus.

Hmmm. Primus 34, Biglands 12 HO's.
McLeod had a shocker, don't know how you worked him into the votes. Have never seen macca miss so many targets, I'm sure he will bounce back though.

I don't think Biglands rucked after mid way thru the 2nd quatrter.

Can't have been doing that good then could he? You can throw Clarke's 16 HO's aswell then ;)

I thought he was, hence why I said this at start of topic.

7 possessions, 3 marks, 12 HO's, 3 FA, 1 goal.
Ran into Primus in the ruck alot early on but didn't really do his job of feeding the Crows small men very well.

Zombie, I think you may have me mistaken for somebody else?(ok.crows perhaps), I did not reply to 1 posting of yours about "who has the better" etc during the past week.If I did, prove it and I will apologize.
Yep, sorry Sapaul it probably was ok.crows.
Umm, a lot of bragging and "correcting" going on on this board at the moment, undoubtedly my comments will be "corrected" as well, but for the record...
I feel our lads were completely outplayed today, but given that we lost by only 8 points I think we still remain a fair chance in the inevitable return game in a few weeks.
Our biggest concerns for the rematch would be:
1. The marking forward. In pressure games this is where we are really shown up.
2. How to stop the "gun forward". I thought Tredders killed us today and if he was actually a good user of the ball could have made the margin more like five goals.
The shining light: Chris Ladhams is now emerging as one of the Crows best and most versatile player.
Now back to the reason for this thread.

There are no clear favourites : wrong Zombie, if you are going to call my comments crap, be a bit more specific. I said Port would start slight favourites, I picked Port (as much as I hated it) in my footy tips by 11 points & will hopefully win my footy pools this week. So I was 3 points off the margin. How accurate were you?
My apologies Kane it was not you nor Sapaul, it was OK.Crows and Crows4Premiers/PrideofSA

Hit Outs, Disposals, Marks, Clearances, Tackles, Score
Primus 34, 7, 2, 2, 2, 1.0
French 4, 3, 0, 0, 1, 0.0
Total 38, 10, 2, 2, 3, 1.0
Biglands 12, 7, 3, 1, 1, 1.0
Clarke 16, 6, 0, 4, 0, 0.0
Total 28, 13, 3, 5, 1, 1.0
IMO, not really much in between the ruck combinations & none of the ruckman were dominant. Port ruckman had more hit outs & marks, but the Crows ruckman had more possessions & clearances.
Primus didn't need to clear the ball, Francou seemed to be doing a pretty good job of that ;)

Primus didn't need to clear the ball, Francou seemed to be doing a pretty good job of that Just mentioned the ruck stats to show there wasn't much in it. Francou on the other hand was clearly dominant, particularly in the 3rd quarter. Wish Ayres & Co did the obvious & put Stinger on him for the whole game as I mentioned pre-match. May be he didn't want to show all his cards just yet. Whatever, it was strange to let Josh run amok (again).

The stats suggest that Port won mainly on 2.....free kicks and contested marks!
Not too bad considering we didn't play too well and Port supporters suggested they played a good game!
