Michael Voss has indicated that the proposal put forward by the AFL in relation to the new GC team is not good enough.
Voss is consulting with the GC management.
He believes that more draft picks and concessions are needed.
Are the 16 existing AFL clubs going to accept this? I would have thought that they would have already been against the current proposal but now they want more.
Is it just a tactic to get what was originally proposed?

Wouldn't expect anything different.
I am still amazed at what the AFL are offering right now, let alone any increases.

Seems that Voss wants a premiership gifted to him. Not much has changed since his playing days.

Tell him he's dreaming.

That is a funny statement.
The Lions were gifted a premiership:thumbsu:
Never drafted players well.
Players were always falling over themselves to leave the club.
Lions always went out and shopped around other teams stars.
Yep, you are right. Premiership gifted:thumbsu:
If you have a problem with the former salary cap concession, of 10%, I am pretty sure that Michael Voss himself did not request that this was introduced, and I am fairly sure we did not pay Vossy for the rights to michaelvoss.com either.
Your clubs long list of recycled players shows what faith your club has in it's recruiters.

I don't think the new Gold Coast team will have that much trouble securing the signatures of some high profile players. Much the same at the Gold Coast Titans in the NRL after gathering a few great players they are now sitting a game clear on top of the ladder in their second year.
Do they really need more than what they have already been offered? We have already seen what the top draft picks can be traded for in our competition.

Oh Voss is just a tool if he wants even MORE. GC should and will get less! Besides he should not be the coach it should be someone who has done it all before and could market the new club and get it going. Someone like SHEEDS! As much as I would hate to see him coach against the Bombers, he would be great for GC.

Breaking news: Michael Voss tells prospective employer what they want to hear.
This thread will attract Collingwood trolls like flies to poo.

Clearly.
Set the bar unrealistically high and it makes the original proposal seem more reasonable.

Spot on...it's like the teachers in Victoria...they asked for $10K payrise, expecting $5K...and the moronic government gave them $10K:confused:
The AFL probably isn't AS dumb as the Labor government so might not come to the party with all of the GCFC's demands.

If Essendon had an extra 10% they could have kept 3 premiership players on their list from 2000 going into the 2001 GF. Instead Brisbane had 110% and with that Caracella for example was straight from Essendon to Brisbane.
I'd love to play 2001 again in 'fairer' circumstances. If I were a Brisbane supporter I would not try and defend the advantage the AFL gave you when a SCC thread comes up. I'd just look the other way and hope the thread dies fast.

It amazes me how concepts such as 'advantage' and 'equity' are so nebulous and subjective on BigFooty.
How many times did your players have to travel in 2001, oh yeah... 3... I'd take that over 11 anyday. ASTERIX ASTERIX!
The retention allowance existed to address a geographic problem that existed. All the other clubs, including yours acknowledged this problem and voted to allow the concession.
Yet because your team happened to lose to us in a grand final, suddenly the concessions were unfair.
You realise this just looks like petty whinging right?
