View Full Version : The Cheer Squads gunna have to change
Obviously with this new age of soft... sorry sensitive new age Footballers the cheer squads going to have to change the way things are done.
If an opposition player misses a shot at Goal, will the Cheer Squad groan in pain for the player and then politely request to the umpire he get a second shot.
I can't alone think of all the things that are going to have to change, so maybe a few others can add to this little suggestion thread.

Mate, at least attempt to show that you know what your talking about. Even if you don't, which is obviously the case in this thread, try and give it a shot.

Offer the umpires cucumber sandwiches and scones inbetween signals, the boundary umpires protein shakes and the opposition oranges at breaks.
We can also extend an invitation to Vlad to join the players in their post game warm up. Interviews may be conducted by Ausjournokids in playgroups the Monday after games.

Is anyone on this forum actually in the cheersquad?
So getting this thread back on track....
How about offering the Umps marshmellows so they will fall into a sense of false security and then have trouble blowing the whistle.

Not even close. Read some of Tess' other threads. This wouldn't even be top ten.
Ya don't wanna go to TLC then...... ;)

what has to change in cheersquads isnt the people who are in them its the clubs themselves and how they treat their cheersquads.I used to be a member of the lions cs and i have a friend who is still a member, and let me tell u I could tell u a few things. This yr especially the cs has been treated like shit firstly they are expected to make the banner outside near gate 2 at the gabba, they had to trace letters in front of the toilets so they could get some light, the clubs doesnt give a dam about its members they expect the to raise their own funds for the paper they use for banner.they are never recognised for their hard work by the club or the players. They arent asking for much just a simply thank u here and there, cos the players would look pretty silly running out on field with no banner.its bout time the cheersquads start standing up for themselves at the end of the day they are sacraficing their friday nights and money to pay for the privelge to sit outside a toilet and cut letters.who would want to be in the cs.so next time popl go to rubbish the cs just remember the hard work they do with no thanks at the end of it.shame on u lions
One thing I think should be addressed is making sure people taking advantage of the cheaper Cheer Squad packages MUST wear at all times a Combination of Black and White only. With no other Clubs colors from any code being worn.

I'm astonished that in these market-savvy days key barrackers should be treated like this. I assumed that any club would make facilities available for the use of its cheer squad.

Perhaps eddie should bone the collingwood cheer squad like Collingwood boned us. We turned into scared little kittens.

I like to wear my 49ers top when I go into the cheer squad area.
Oh and sometimes I go commando.
Really, who has the right to tell others what clothes they can or can't wear?

Tess, does this record ever get changed??? Maybe its got a scratch or something, because its bloody repetitive.

Well Matty unlike you I actually took something from your post where you said in all your years on the forums and looked at your join date. I was surprised that you joined up in Feb this year, yet your claiming "in all your years". It's looks like a troll, what I call a Tess troll it happens theres not much I can do about you and the "usual suspects" having a dig Matty. I just hope you can see past me and start posting on topic without directing senseless vitriol at me....
P.S. I know this thread is a train wreck .....

So addressing the actual topic in this thread is only for others and not the topic starter?
Is there a word for that?

Back on topic, as I have tried to do twice now, I don't think the cheer squad needs to be changed.
CTA it was a Joke thread in response to Robbo's article. I mean farmer must still be seeing a therapist after the treatment he copped a few years ago according to Robbo.
Oh and Hi Lisa, how about you come up and say something to my face next time instead of snipping like you normally do.
Round 11 my dear is coming soon......

I've said it in other threads and I'll say it here - for the most part I love how the Collingwood Cheer Squad goes about it. The 'Awww, I want to bring my kid along, so can you please stay quiet and sit still' brigade is imposing sterility on the crowd. I was a kid when I went to matches in the 80's - I heard swearing and yelling and it hasn't done me much harm.
I'm not advocating Celtics vs Rangers-style riots in the stands by any means; decking someone because of the jumper they wear or the background they're from is the height of stupidity. But you Collingwood folk - people call you ferals and crack jokes about the tooth fairy, but you've got a mad passion for the game and for your club that is sadly being strangled.
Well done Pies, show the rest of 'em how it's done.:thumbsu:

Ummm OK. The OP is shit. It is oblique, unneccessarily vague and poorly worded. (Does that cover my obligations in that regard?)
I was really referring to your remarks about 'someone' wearing non-pies gear in the cheer squad. God forbid:eek:. Hence my use of the quote button in my previous post, you might not have seen it through your cloak of indignation. Nevermind. You're not perfect.
I wouldnt have pegged you as the sort of person to be so intolerant about looks and fashion. Sorry, I am clearly wrong.
Best regards.

So first you tell posters to stay on topic, then when you are caught out not being on topic, you tell posters the thread is a joke.
Yes, there is a joke in this thread, but I've known that all along
