It isn't scalping when you sell tickets that were for personal use and that aren't sold at a profit to the seller.

I'd say $70 for 8 tickets wouldn't come as a profit to the seller.

I'm pretty sure that it's only illegal for the Grand Final (or maybe it's the finals series.)

I was a little shocked to find this out but it was in one of the newspapers just before the Anzac Day match this year.


update.... info from 18th September last year

"A BAN on scalping AFL grand final tickets could be extended to preliminary finals, Victorian Premier John Brumby says.

Under Victorian law it is illegal for a grand final ticket to be sold by a person or organisation not authorised by the AFL.

Anyone caught buying from an unauthorised seller faces fines of up to $6000 a ticket.

But the laws do not apply to preliminary finals, including this Friday night's match between Collingwood and Geelong at the MCG."

Scalping is still illegal. Can't sell tickets for a profit, can resell at same price.

It is possible though to sell a package of a ticket and a pencil for $200. Ticket is original price but the pencil is worth shitloads
