Best game ever mate, one of the best I've ever seen. They look unstoppable, not any player ran out of steam tonight, Cloke and Medhurst dominated, Didak played great!

This is why Malthouse gets the big ones. The pies totally deserved it tonight against a team that didn't want to be there. Physically just dominated, outstanding effort.

Hope they keep it up for the run to the finals. All vics, that's what we need.

A good game by the Pies, not a good game overall.

Don't get too carried away. Just think back to Geelongs season last year, and how many games they lost, and who too.

If you guys meet them in the finals again though this year, you would fancy your chances.

You match up very well with them.

Pies= top 4.

I think we can now see what happens when we get an EVEN effort from the 22.

Our Best win in 2 years, Geelongs worst loss in the same timeframe.

Pure Brilliance from our boyz, although the scoreboard tends to suggest how much more pain may have been inflicted on them.

They have been hurting by Ottens absense, not to mention chapman being out, but 86 points is ridiculous for a team of their callibre

Very well played tonight - everyone up and firing and the tackling pressure was awesome. You showed the rest of the comp what a committed unit can achieve against the best.
See you in September.:thumbsu:

Best win for this footy club in the last few years. We were paying around $5 at the start of the game, Geelong were $1.50, so no one thought we would come close to winning. Not only a win, but a hiding handed to the Cats, reigning premier!
Love the games of Cloke and Rocca, both just marked everything that came their way. Did's brilliant, Medhurst, Thomas (Mr Magic), Pendles and of course Clarke, brilliant goal in the second, just the game he needed to get the confidence back, The Big H and Wakes down back were sensational and Rhyce Shaws runs up the ground just showed how important a player he is to our structure with his run and carry. The new gold nugget in Wellingham, this kid is something special, you can tell by his clean hands, the way he gets out of traffic and his skill level is sublime. I was impressed with him last year at Williamstown and he just belongs at AFL level.
All in all, has made my weekend, now will travel to Werribee tomorrow to watch more of the exciting talent at the club. GO PIES!!!

Our pressure won the game for us. Everywhere around the field when a Geelong player had the ball, there was always a Collingwood player looming ready to tackle, hence why the Cats were indecisive, had more errors and more handballs.

Also we played down the corridor on occasions. We did a bit of it last week and also again today. Hopefully that part of the gameplan can continue as well. Looks much better and is more effective.

LOL at the "keep a lid on it" calls.

I really think that young Harry O'brien is going to be something very special.
Last week and tonight he showed some real "presence".
We may speak of him in the company of greats in years to come.

wow, just got back from the game after a few post match drinks, thought this would be a good time for my first post. great turnaround from a few weeks ago at the hands of hawthorn.

obviously many positives:
- sharrod continues to improve (3-0 so far, coincidence?;))
- the return of marty clarke
- travis cloke back in some good form

hard to find a dud amongst them tonight, only bad thing to come from tonight is the hawks on top of the ladder

best game from the magpies in a while, still in shock, hopefully we can keep it up against the weagles next week

Utterly amazing. What that says is that if we want to, we can push for a Grand Final spot this year. The list is capable. It's whether the campaign has the consitency to do so. This team lost to Carlton, and is only 5-4. You beat the reigning premiers by 14 goals and change you need to finish top 4 at worst.

Mick, the challenge for you now is that you get these lads consistent, so that our record come the end of August refelects the talent of our side, the same kind of talent that thumps Geelong.

Is it just me, or has no-one on radio last night, and today so far given much credence to our performance, but to spend more time on where Geelong are at? I would've thought both stories (our brilliance, their mishap) would've earned 50-50 airtime. If you believe some people, Geelong won (apparently Gerard Wheatley on 774 last night kept labelling the Cats winners).

Don't get me wrong, its good, no need for the boys to get big heads, it's only one game of footy, and its not yet June.

I have filled my "lid" with scotch and have been supping quietly for the last 19 hours....enjoying the moment. Might even watch the game again and "roll around in it" for a while.
Come Monday, as you say, I'll put it away and start getting nervous about the West Coast game.
