Hope you guys knock the Cats out of the Finals for us.

BTW Mick's doing a bit of a Wenger over your way, he's getting the best out of alot of players you wouldn't be expecting too much from. Plus youngsters from out of his 'magic hat.'

Easy m8 !!, tonight has proven that we can match it with the best of them, it certainly doesn’t guarantee us a flag, but what it does show is that we have a fighting chance.

Hope you're right! I said the same thing when we flogged 'em by a 100 odd points a couple of years ago, I'm sure they will bring us back to earth soon but in the meantime lets enjoy it :thumbsu:

pretty sure we got our butt smacked a couple of weeks ago by Hawthorn but tonight was a great win all the same

Way too early for any claim to the flag....but an immensely satisfying win.

Yeah after the Hawthorn game I'm not confident of anything major this year. Also, we DID lose to Carlton. So... excellent signs tonight, but unless we continue on this way for the rest of the year, it doesn't add up to a flag.

Firstly, lets hope we can get over the Eagles next week!

Unbelievable performance tonight, Just got back, lost my voice, but if we lose next week, tonight's super win will mean nothing!

A fair bit too early mate. But i hope your right!
Then again... was only 1 game and we still havea nother 12 before finals footy hits. Need to play like this every week if we want to get up high.

yeah ah lets claim the 2008 flag when we actually win it, beating Geelong was the best win i have seen in ages but still got a long season left. Now we must start being consistent!!

Agreed ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

What we get out of last night is a massive amount of confidence. We are a confidence side ... on song we are unstoppable and we proved this last night.

85 tackles = great intensity...

Some of the guys that had been down a little on form eg. Rocca, Cloke, Thomas (although good against Saints), Harry O etc. stepped up which had a profound impact on the result.

Throw in the unveiling of Wellingham who has the capacity to put his head over the ball with some great skills and speed and there is a strong case to suggest we will be there in September.

How far we go will be based on how consistently we can apply the pressure we demonstrated last night.

Any further developments on the Davis injury?

It showed we still have the capacity to challenge the best of the best, and also that we do indeed match up incredibly well against the Cats. Our intensity last night was magnificent, and an element of our game which was for the most part missing from our previous matches this season. I think we can take a lot of heart out of last night's performance, but we need to keep up with this kind of form if we are genuinely going to contend come finals time.

Love optimism so I won't cut you down.

What it does do is prove at our best we can beat absolutely anyone and it opens up the field a little.

Is it possible to dish out 86 tackles each week.......

Anyhow the cats have been unsettled by our mob for quite a few years.

Damn. Thought this was an appreciation thread for Tarkyn Lockyer, the king of tackles. Nine tackles and hard at the ball all night. What a gun...just unbelievable... will win the Brownlow at a canter... forget Judd, this guy will go down number one ever... no I'm not humouring you... Tarkyn was legendary last night.

Top effort boys.

I dont' want to be a wet blanket, but nearly every season a bottom side thrashes a top side once or twice, so one game doesn't mean that much. eg Fitzroy did it sometimes. Shaw's magpies thrashed premiers north melbourne one year, and went on to stay cellar dwellers.
Haven't seen the game yet - torrent is taking ages - but sounded like a great win, just have to follow through with consistent form obviously to repeat what's been said 10 times or so.

Lets just win our next 2 games or else all the good work is undone.

We need to keep that sought of form going to overcome the Eagles next week. Last night their midfield of Priddis, Rosa, Embley and Fletcher flogged a very good Crows unit.

We need to bring our A game nearly every week, and especially over the next month so that we can build some momentum.
