Bloody hell, where did that come from, what a win and what a physically impressive performance.
Just a thought, i think that was our best win since the 2003 final against Brisbane at MCG. I know we won two finals last year but we beat Sydney every time we play them and West Coast were buggered.
Geelong even though they didnt turn up last night, wouldve been beaten if they did.
Best win in 5 years, and by the way, WE'RE BACK.

Agreed. I thought our semi-final last year was outstanding... away from home, against the reigning premiers, came back from what seemed like defeat, won in overtime. BUT, they were nowhere near as strong as the Cats, and we pumped them. Easily our best win since 2003.

Best win since we knocked off Port Adelaide at Footy Park in the Qualifying Final in 2003. Paul Licuria was just immense that night.
That's the last time I've felt as satisfied as I do right now. :thumbsu:
Eagles win last year in the finals was a mammoth effort as well and would have rated the Prelim but hard to have good memories if we did not win.
Try 2002
Collingwood 16.12 (108) Def Port Adelaide 14.11 (95)

Thats the one and - last nights magnificent effort not withstanding - it remains the greatest win that I have seen by our club - it was bloody immense in the context of that season.

It certainly felt great to be a Pies man last night.
The best win since West Coast last year, not being smart-arsed, which was our best win in a big game for a long time.
The best Tackling display I have ever seen....and I mean in 37 years.
I am interested to know if 85 effective tackles is a record.
Another great thing was that so many of our tackles were not only rewarded with free kicks but involved multiple tacklers.
Bloody inspiring stuff Pies.

i think we had 107 last year in against the eagles although that is infalted due to extra time.
Would be quite close to the best of any team

Was there last night and pretty much knew by q time we were stuffed; outworked by every Pie in every department except maybe for Jnr. Just wondering where that sort of effort has been for the first few rounds? After watching them fall over the line against the Saints thought the Cats would do it pretty easy, why the change in mindset and pressure? Impressive win.

as poor as we were mfor most of teh sints match we had a period of ten minutes in the thgird when we played like we did last night, the signs were there we were working our way back but not for last nighst performance.

It was the best I have seen a Collingwood team play in my life. The first half was the best team effort by any team ever. Geelong weren't all that bad - All there midfielders had fairly good games. We just smashed them!!!!!
Prob since the Semi against West Coast last year with extra time. I'm still spewing I drank too much on Friday night and can't remember much of the game....hehe...I was going spastic and think I annoyed everyone sitting around me...all good :)

Definantly the best game i have had the privilege of seeing live
Other great wins that come to mind
Port 02' QF-Underdogs, no Bucks, no1 backed us, got up
BL 03' QF- Too bad we didnt play like that 2 weeks later
Adelaide 03' at Footy Park-Were looking down the barrell at 3 losses on the trot. Came back from the clouds with Tarrants goal after the siren
WC Semi-great win

Definitely as satisfying as H&A wins could possibly come... :thumbsu:
Which is why as supporters we should savour it a little rather than box it up because these are the moments to look back on once it gets rough again. :o
