that he isnt playing!! :P
Are the pies supporters enjoying his commentary and articles in the paper? I have found him to be one of the best special comments guys going around and have enjoyed all his articles immensely.
Yet only 6 months ago I would have speed up if I saw him crossing the road. Amazing what happens when you take off that god awful black and white jumper!

Both he and Voss have really added something to the footy coverages, they are great.

Very observant, very discerning and has the advantage of having played in the modern game. I love the way he's so down to earth; never exaggerates like all the other special comments guys who seem to go way overboard in their assessment of players.

Buckley was a champion on the field but I knew that no matter what he did in "life after football" he would excell at. & he is!!!! Buckley has a great footy brain, he is just amazing!
You have the commentators who hate Collingwood, & it so obvious. Then you have the commentators who barrack for the team they want to win. & also the commentators who are as boring as bat sh*t to listen to or complete idiots. Nathan Buckley sh*ts all over every other commentator in the business!!
He is hardly biased in his comments, he actually KNOWS what he's talking about & he's just damn good at it!!!!
I love listening to Bucks commentate, the best in the business!!! (& he's only just begun..... :p)

i think bucks is reversed biased when commenting on the pies.. he knows the inner sanctum as well as anyone... but i believe he intelligently holds back on his comments as to not allow the opposition to much insight on the standing and ability of newer players at the pies.. i cant wait till he our coach( however i cant see mick going anywhere anytime soon- and nor should he)...
WTF? You have to kidding, right?
Voss is total crap.....
Don't be so hard on Voss. He excels at making Buckley look great by comparison.

as a geelong supporter what did u take out of last nights game? - I had to get up at 5:30am to watch it live (currently live in the US) and was back in bed getting a BJ off the missus by halftime. Really helped me put things in perspective :p
I actually really enjoyed watching you guys play I just wished you were playing someone else. With the skill of the players in todays competition when things go right for a team it makes for some beautiful football. Your boys chased, tackled and harassed us all night, and god did you make your tackles stick. Your ball use going forward was well constructed and very efficient. It was also great to see everyone on your team do something good.
Challenges are presented to both teams now.
How do the Cats get that spark back? We have a premiership hangover and are missing 3 out of our 5 spine players from last year (NAB, Ottens and Egan) with two of them not coming back for the rest of the season. We need to manage our players well and find that Thing, the zip, the killer instinct that let us crush teams all of last year (and the start of this year). The boys are already looking tired and injuries are starting to mount and there is a long stretch of the season still to go.
For the pies it is a matter of consistently playing the type of football you did last night. You too need to find that same spark every week, you need to get up with the same intensity whether it is Geelong at the MCG on Friday night or Melbourne at Casey Grammer in front of a capacity crowd of 38.
Both teams have the cattle. Geelong have won 27 of 28 (now 27 of 29) and that isnt a fluke. The Pies have gone within 5 points of a GF and smashed us with some relentless football last night, neither were flukes. However, one of the hardest thing in football is consistency over a long period of time. And for all the coaching, training, sports phsychologists, etc it is the one thing you cant manufacture. When it clicks, it just clicks...form, confidence, call it what you will, it is so powerful and so allusive!
WTF? You have to kidding, right?
Voss is total crap.....
Thats pretty harsh... crap isnt that bad

"crap" is a nice way of saying what I really think, which would undoubtedly get me red carded and probably lead to a law suit if I know Voss and the media.

You'd do well to get a red card out of me by bagging Voss. I used to have a great deal of respect for him as a player, but that's gone out the window now he's gone into the media. Basically the polar opposite of what the OP has said of Bucks.

His commentary is much more intelligent & insightful than Voss'. Bucks will make a very good coach (hopefully for us).

Bucks is a great color commentator...very insightful. However i think channel seven should offload the ox he is woeful. Makes stupid calls continually or makes super obvious calls that everyone was already thinking about three or four plays after it has taken place. Also it seems he makes no attempts to study up on players as last night he referred to the wrong players (called Sharrod Medders even though there was an up close replay of Sharrod tryin to create a spoil as he was making the call) i think Bucks gets frustrated by the ox too as a i remember Bucks giving him a little barb....Bucks: Sorry David for talking while you we're interrupting!...lol made me crack up.

Every time Voss opens his mouth publicly he diminishes any good he did on field.

Buckley has Voss covered in every facet of the business ... insightfulness, presentation and intelligence. Personally, I don't believe Buckley has disclosed all his abilities.
On the coaching front, I will enjoy the smugness on Buckley's face when he out coaches Voss in a Grand Final. He is destined to win a flag. Better still, he'll hold aloft the cup with his son next to him... ;)

A great sense of disgust. Then there's always the fear that the 'old Geelong' will return. Perhaps this is the premiership hangover people talk about, although it's only one game.
In all seriousness though, the one thing I get out of it is that, as Bomber said, we have to become the hunter again, to return our intensity to the game. Perhaps they need to start to feel like the underdog every game and really fight to win. Which Collingwood seem to do nearly every week.
Oh yeah: Bucks >> daylight >>>>>>>>>>>> David "oh, geez, sheesh" Schwartz
