Sorry mate but you need to take responsibility for the state we are in.

You were supposed to come in and take our list to the next level. You got your coaches you wanted.

You are not performing well. You had a team that should have been able to be in the top 8 at this time of the year and no we look like a basket case.

If you play Peake, Schammer again this year i'll be pissed. Their disposal is crap. Can't you see this???

JOSH HEAD would be a good start !!

I think the biggest problem you guys have is that Sandilands wins majority of the hitouts and the opposition is at the ground to get them.

Surely McManus should retire as soon as possible.

Got to give Harvey a bit more time. He needs to give a large clean out at the end of the season. Get rid of the heartless fools. Play the kids.

The kids! We have a rookie list, put a few of the oldies on the long term injury list play a few rookies.
Return a few of the oldies for the last game to say goodbye

Doesn't matter who plays, it's 22 onto 22 and we should have beaten 4 or 5 teams this year.

This thread is about Harvey. Eventually questions will have to be asked and eventually he will not be immune from criticism (especially given the hard time that Connelly got)

So regardless of the 22 put out on the park, what has Harvey and his band of coaches instilled into this playing group?

I've laid off until now, but geez Harvs you have gotta give us something... anything. :(

But what are they going to do? They are rookies for a reason. One of them is also injured. We know what Dunn can do, but who else is gonna replace these 4? HEad and Dunn.. thats it so far and the rest aren't in form.

Every week when i see McManus' name in the selected team I lose a little bit more respect for Harvey.

Maybe, just maybe, time to put in O'brien, Foster, Head and any of our other young guys who haven't been mentally scarred by this losing streak

...because Freo don't have any decent inside rovers (Haselby excluded - and he's injured) that can instinctively read his taps.

Its been said in other threads, but I can't see the fault on Harvey, 0 tackles in the last 14 min is not a coaching problem, its either fitness or between the players ears. Sending out the runner to tell the players to lift their intensity isn't going to achieve much unfortunately.

I tend to think Harveys coaching is getting Freo to the point of winning, but its the players who are letting him and the supporters down by just not running/chasing/tackling/shepherding in the last part of the game, no shuffling of players will ever fix that.

I'd hazard a guess that the rookie list this year was used for the benefit of the bottom line.

If they wanted either to play, I'd say they would both have been promoted by now. I'd say it would be a pretty desperate move to promote them.

the freo curse must be dropped and forced to retire...mcmanus is curse that will plague freo until the day he retires..time for the curse to be lifted

Ive said it before ,its not the coaches, the players crucified Connolly and they/ll do the same to Harvey if he lets them.

It could also be because players are working too hard early, or Harvs isn't rotating them enough.

plus the minor thing that we have a first year player trying to carry the entire midfield.

eventually he will not be immune....he's coping it left and right as we speak. i think we need to give him a bit of a chance. as an essendon supporter, losing those close games is frustrating, but it's a hell of a lot worse getting thumped. the last 4 games freo have lost by a total of under 20 points. the last 6 games essendon have lost by over 300....

One thing that gets me is that all the experts are saying this was suppose to be Fremantles year, or atleast they should have finished top four. I don't know how people can predict that with an untried coach. Sure Harvey was a good assistant but is you listen to him speak and watch the look on his face when asked the hard questions he looks like the pressure is a bit much for him. He looked alot more comfortable as an assistant. There have been alot of good players and good assistants that just can't coach, the first name that springs to mind for me is Tim Watson, not sure if he did an apprentiship as an assistant but he was such a good player everyone expected he would be a great coach but his time as a coach was nothing short of a train wreck, maybe Harvey will be the same. I heard that the Freo board came out and defended him saying he was safe as the coach, thats not always a good sign either.

Yeah good one mate - if McManus had retired we would be top of the ladder as it would have allowed ? Dunn to be playing and he would certainly be worth 4 or 5 games at this point.

Oh my, it's the voice of reason.

We are 1-8 because we've got players who are injured, players who haven't come on as we had hoped, and players that play for themselves and not the team. We've got players who are all skill and no grit, players who are all grit and no skill, and very few with both. We've had a horrendous run with injury. We've been cruelly denied a handful of wins. And we have a first year coach.

Is Harvey learning? Of course. Is he making mistakes? Certainly. Does he deserve more than nine weeks before we start questioning whether he's the right man for the job? I think so.

No one wanted this miserable season, but at least no one is under any illusions as to what things need to change for us to be a premiership threat in the future. :thumbsu:

Going into the season all our planning was around Hasleby, Headland and Josh carrying the midfield. Take the best 3 midfielders out of any side and it will struggle.

Peake and Schammer look like stars compared to Thornton.

While the results have been bitterly dissappointing the endeavour and the structures have been good.
