Honorable mentions to everyone. I think we all played well, it was tight and very congested at times. I felt our ruckmans were mobile around the grounds, especially Jolly. However, dishonorable mentions to Leo Barry, LRT and Malceski.

5. Moore Bulldog you star.
4. Kirk Left on from last week, just kept going and going.
3. Goodes Getting better week by week.
2. ROK Started on fire, faded out before coming back at the end.
1. Mattner. Desperate tackle right at the end on Pearce, we were gone if Danyle had kicked the goal. Also plenty of brave stuff throughout the game.

5. Kirk - One word "Inspirational" - One of his best ever games
4. Moore - Went missing for a little while in the middle of the game (I realise he went off after the knock he took) but was outstanding in crucial parts of the game.
3. Goodes - Poor second quater but imposed himself on the contest throughout the rest of the game.
2. ROK - Was on fire early tearing apart 3 different opponents and was still very good in the second half as well.
1. Mattner - Showed real composure under some of the most intense pressure you could imagine. Did some game saving things.

I'm surprised Micky O hasn't been mentioned in peoples top fives gave off and kicked crucial goals got caught a couple of times but he was pretty good.
LRT Would be in the top five for Port :D
Nah gotta stop that great win over there and Kirk Moore were just fantastic.
Anyone think Nick Davis would be just as valuable as Playfair ? Perhaps even kicking a couple of goals to make the value a little more his way. I'm just not convinced he is right but has height on his side so doesn't usually get outpointed in the marking contest.
Might take time for Mal to hit his straps still two incident free games should equate to a bit more confidence.
Wow haven't seen that kind of finish where the Swans get up for a while it was phantasmagorical

So stoked with Smoorey the last two weeks, all year actually. Kirky was at his supreme best again. I'm surprised I'm the only one to give Bucky votes, I thought he was fantastic in the tough situations today. ROK could just as easily have five, my top four were all not separated by much. And finally the big man, I'm still spewing he didn't get a Victorian guernsey but he's certainly in the top 3-4 ruckmen going around for mine.
I just wanted to add that despite what will be a few people saying we haven't beaten anyone in the last 2 weeks the way we have played has been awesome. According to the betting market we went supposed to win today,so thanks bookies and punters for inflating my collect .
Despite all this we are playing with fantastic intensity and great resolve. Like Roos kicked their butts after the bulldogs loss and has got something more from them. If we keep playing like this we are right in this season for the long haul and capable of going deep into September.
Please excuse me I am still on a high so I will conclude my 2000th post with a big
GO SWANS.

3. J Moore- Superstar potential, adds ass and class we dont have elsewhere, blue collar, and genius in one.
2. A Goodes - picking up a lot moore contested poss this year, good to see, even if lacking in some other areas.
1. Jolly - Our MVP, we would be stuffed with out him, he was a great buy
ROK very good first quarter, but is more suited to the flow rather than the contested game. Mattner tried his guts out.
LRT, BIRD, PLAYFAIR, L BARRY, SPIDER were terrible.

He'd been playing pretty well so far this year after LRT came into the side and freed him up a little more, but LRT had a horrible game too. I'm not concerned, he's 499958566330 x better for us this year than last. I'm not even scared when he runs out of the 50 with the ball.
Well, maybe just a little :D

im suprised there isnt a little more love for Jude, he was outstanding yesterday. Definatley in our top 3.
Anyone checked his stats?? 25 disposals, 6 Marks, and 9 tackles. The amount of times he dived (dove?) into packs was enormous. I have been a bit critical of him of late, but the last 4-5 weeks he has stepped it up big time.

i usually respect your posts, banyo, but the shot at LRT was unfair and inaccurate
he was important at various times, and certainly far more effective than barry or richards, who were both pantsed most of the day (just look at who kicked port's goals), and malceski, who's obviously still very tentative
i thought LRT at least provided a physical presence (yes, still looks awkward) and mattner and bevan were tremendous in defence

He filled the holes well. Sure he had the odd clanger. But it was one of those games. Barely a moment to breath for most disposals. But I think you're being a bit harsh. Malceski had a far worse game. That goal he gifted Ebert was like a dagger in Barry's heart. But we were still were a better team for having Mal in the side. And for me, same goes for LRT.
I still think you'll come around to the big doofus by year's end, though.

Yeah I was a bit harsh but the way he gave the ball up to the opposition against Port highlighted his game to me as poor. I like LRT and would have him in my 22 but I really saw his game as poor this weekend. Footy is open for interpretation but I thought his decision making wasn't quick enough but then again I've played in three losing Grand Finals so what do I know :thumbsd:
Look forward to reading your contributions on here as always but perhaps on this one we just see it differently.

Some idiot on the main board took it too far and i retaliated .. mods are like umpires. Retaliation has to totally be within the rules, especially with what he was saying about Sydney and the Swans/Bloods - yes, that thread. And I got angry. I usually don't get angry but this was something you'd get angry about.

Exactly right bedford.
Everyone expected us to quietly fade away this season and wallow in the bottom half of the ladder for a few years. Suddenly they all realised that our "ageing stars" weren't on the decline and we actually had a fair bit of talent coming up from the 2's. Supporters of the top teams know the sort of damage we can do in the finals and they fear us...... and rightfully so!
