20 years since it was released.

Holds up extremely well considering it is an "of the time" movie

A real 80's ( Greed is good ) film is there ever was one. I'm not a great fan of Oliver Stone usually but I liked this one. The seduction of Bud ( Charlie Sheen ) by Gecko ( Micheal Douglas ) was engrossing and fairly descriptive of the time. Gordon Gecko's character was written as a ruthless, opportunistic, ethically and morally bankrupt Wall Street bully. The fact he became a quoteable hero to every young wannabee straight out of his business course was the ironic twist that Stone was probably searching for.

Excellent movie & one that sums of the essense of the 80's or at least a part of it.

Greed..for want of a better word..is good

MDs best role or at least equal with Romancing The Stone.

Great movie. Funny to see it rated R18+ though considering what passes as M nowdays!

Same.
Love seeing the "old technology" when you compare it to what is available nowdays.

Eh?

Love it, some great lines, interesting story, though as someone went to the trouble of pointing out in an article once, the SEC could get Gecko on bugger all really.

Oh and I almost forgot the score by Stuart Copeland and the great credit song by Talking Heads.

Hard not to feel something at the end.

Great stuff.

But it is quite worrying that people use Gecko as justification.:confused: Has me stumped...

Watched it again Sunday morning.

The only bad thing about it is Daryl Hannah. I reckon Elle MacPherson's "acting" had as much class!

I did like her interior decorating though. Cuting edge!

Awesome movie, 9/10.

Would be a 10 if Hannah wasn't in it.

Aren't they going to make a sequel with Douglas?

Weird that they even cast her, she clearly wasn't comfortable, considering she's a bit of a hippy and had to play a consumerist designer.

Also didn't help that Sean Young was on set always carrying on about how she was the real Darien.
