Hope you guys don't mind me starting a thread on your board. Hopefully you'll recognise me as a displaced West Aussie with a soft spot for Freo.

I went to the TD today with three boys in tow (two in Dockers jumpers) and plonked us in the middle of the Medallion Club. I only saw three other Freo fans in the whole section :(. We cheered our hearts out in the midst of a sea of royal blue (I've lost my voice) and my oldest boy left in tears, but we could hold our heads high, because I thought your boys could easily have given up and didn't.

You were royally raped today. I don't think I've ever seen things go one team's way more than I witnessed. I won't go through the lowlights, because I'm sure they tore your collective hearts out as well.

Did any of you guys realise that the siren blew at the 25min mark of the last quarter? I had just turned to check the clock, thinking 5 min to go, still a chance with the ball in the forward line, and bang - over!

Did someone at Freo take a crap in the timekeepers' water cooler or something?

Was because the umps didn't blow time off for the entire quarter, so the quarter was ____ing short as.

Give the young fella a pat on the back for me, obviously he bleeds purple, what a champ! Tell him to stick with it, our time will come and all of the tears will be worth it one day.

Great but sad story ... tell them to keep their heads up, the time will come.

As for the timekeeping, I can't be certain as the TV just went to the 5 minute warning crap. It did seem a bit short, but nothing too untoward. There wasn't a lot of scoring or stoppages in the last 5 off memory. We just weren't good enough.

Jeez. . . I hope so.

The oldest boy asked me what's wrong with Freo as we drove home, but after a chat I convinced him to cheer up and start coming up with better names for Carlton, like "the Bluesers". He's also gone right off the umpires after today.:thumbsu: It's not all bad. He's learning to hate.:D

He'll sooner be getting his senior's bus pass at this rate.

That was a good read!

Good on ya for supporting Freo in melb!

I also looked at the clock at about 5 mins and thought we had enough time, then the siren went and i was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO then started to stomp/thump the ground heaps, then came out foul language ;-)
