Defintely a great character building win, especially for the kids, and considering Fev and Judd were quiet for most of the game, but showed their way in the end..

Still...alot of the kids showed spirit and a desire to win the game...Bentick, Bower, Grigg, Pfieffer and Hampson all dug in and put in their bit to get us over the line.

It's great to beat Freo for the first time in 9 encounters (nearly 7 years??), it's great that Jeff Farmer was more like the Fizz than 'the wiz', and Freo proved they are well and truly a ONE TRICK PONY, and wouldn't exist as a team if they didn't have the one-man brilliance of Pavlich.

The redefine the word 'rabble' for the modern game.

You forgot arguably the most impressive one, Gibbsy. His first half was absolutely fantastic, 13 touches 4 marks 6 tackles a few clearances. It seemed he was dragged back to the backline by the Dockers because he didn't play much of the second half in the middle. Very promising signs :thumbsu:

Bower continues to impress week by week. Russell is another one who keeps showing so much promise after a slow start to the year. Another player that definatly deserves a mention is Adam Bentick, he has just over-taken Hadley and he will now have to fight for his spot back in the team.

Thought Bower was underrated today. Stood up again with a couple of key defenders missing.

Did pretty well considering he was kind of out of his depth. Was beaten by Tarrant IMO but if Jamo or Thornton played Bower definately wouldn't have got that job. Pretty good effort and i'm sure he learn't alot from the experience.

Very happy with Russell - will never be a star, but is beginning to become a solid contributor, and his confidence is at an all time high - looks like he's beginning to believe he belongs.

Gibbs is sensational - the rest of the footy world is beginning to see why he's so highly rated, bar a flog here and there. Some of the stuff he does just leaves me gob smacked - not the flashy stuff like a Daisy type, but awareness, ability to create space and his work in close (which is a huge asset, and one we're only beginning to see now that he's filling out) is extremely promising.

Adam Bentick - definitely deserves his spot in the 22. The onus is on Hadley to take Bentick's spot, as his work around the clearances are the best we've got after Judd's, and his disposal is better than given credit for.

Bower - just keeps on keeping on. I genuinely love this kid, and his improvement has been phenomenal, particularly his run. Heart in mouth stuff at times, but he rarely ever gets caught nowadays. He was probably beaten defensively today, but certainly didn't have his colours lowered. Tarrant was their number one option, though most of his touches were up around the wing.

Pfeiffer really provides some grunt to the side - supposedly a brilliant overhead mark, which we haven't seem much of yet, but his goal in the last was brilliant and won us the game. Was solid, and one of his better games thus far.

Grigg has really impressed me. Two weeks ago, I thought he needed to go back to the VFL as he didn't look ready for the big time. However, the past fortnight appears to have been a turning point for him. Before that, he clearly looked overwhelmed and unsure of himself in the world of AFL footy, but looks now to be gaining confidence and composure.

that thing he did, in the last quarter, where he avoided 3 or 4 Dockers players and sent a long handball to Stevens...my gob was literally smacked. Bryce is beyond good.

Browne another one who played well. That goal in the 3rd quarter just before the siren was sensational!

Yes, spot on. Thought Grigg's composure was sensational. Best game so far. Attacks the ball hard, has excellent pace and skills. Didn't look that much shorter than Tarrant when side by side. Pretty tall for a midfielder in fact. :)

Brownes kicking skills are sublime. As soon as he got the ball, I nudged my mate and said that he'll kick it. :thumbsu:

Yep, very very skillful. And he knows it. Has fantastic confidence and composure. A top-20 quality pick easily, if not higher. A draft bargain. :)

I know that Gilly was very keen on Browne last year, and you can now see why. Just a great user of the ball, and isn't afraid of going in and laying tackle after tackle.

Can really see him having a long and successful career at Princes Park.
