See his effort in the 2nd quarter at the dome against Freo, my god, that was a 'gem' and really lets face it, It has to be easily the fave for goal of the year thus far (and I doubt anyone could top it)

I'm sorry, but from the skill, angle and degree of difficultiy, it is much more harder then Thomas's goal on the boundary against Geelong (that was a nice goal, but hardly the spectacular effort that Fev did against Freo, and Fev was in a much harder position ..

Give the man the car now !!! :D

Eddit Betts' goal against the saints was better than Fev's yesterday

Nah, Rioli, McPhee, and Davey all have Fev's goal covered, and I've probably missed a few others.

I hate to tell u mate, but if that wins goal of the year the comp is fake.
He was weak, he could have picked it up and dished it off but instead chose to soccer it.

Man I hate those flukey goals, especially if they win...

Nothing like a 30 m run around a few players, then slotting it through from a near impossibly angle...

60m bomb to win a game>Fev's soccer display.

I dunno lloyd could pop up with another dropkick backfoot gem to take the world by storm again (from 1 foot out)

that donkey kick was total bullshit for goal of the year
shouldve been waite's against the pies last yr

Hey, if Lloyd won GOTY, nothing would surprise me.

That said, give the ball to training in the same position as Thomas, and I'm sure a fair proportion of the list would be able to slot it. Hell, head on out to any local footy team's training and there'll be multiple guys who can do the exact same, without too much trouble. Granted, it's much harder to do in the heat of the moment (a moment which scarcely comes up), which is why it'll be up there.

Fev's goal, meanwhile, there'll be a far less percentage of people who can replicate it at training - and none consistently. Spectacular goal, and amazingly flashy (camera angles didn't to justice to it - from where I was sitting, the spin on the ball was brilliant), however, people generally prefer a "skillful" goal rather than an out-and-out fluke like Fev's as goal of the year.

I thought it was a great goal and well worked but mcphee, rioli, betts and leon davis have all kicked better goals! :thumbsu:

Open the other eye. McPhee's is the best I've seen so far. Not to mention Rioli and Betts' efforts eclipsing Fevola's as well. Maybe 4th or 5th best so far .

Fevola? Right.....

Mcphees is the best freak "how did that happen goal ever?".

But the most talented goal ive seen in a long time with a 30-40 metre dance around 4 different players followed by the drop punt from 55 metres on an angle makes Daveys easy goal of the year.

Dale Thomas's Goal is my pick

Agree - At this stage Daisys goal was by far the best IMO.

Fevs winning would be like Lloyds backheel winning last year - a JOKE! :thumbsd:

Yeah, It was more funny than skillfull.
That would be like Leeroy Jetta's through 2 swans legs winning this years. Funny but not worthy.

Well if Brad Johnson's goal a couple of years ago against Brisbane didn't win,
Then why would Fev's?
