Went to TBO to watch the antz play today and although we lost i had an enjoyable day. Bullants started really well. Benjamin kicked a nice goal and i saw the possibly the funniest thing ever. Ackland took a HUGE screamer in the goal sqaure but didnt like the attention when he was up in the air so when he landed he thumped the ball into his opponents head as hard as he could. Very funny but it resulted in a rport and 50 meters. It was worth it though. I was very interested to see how Mark Austin went on Dick Sautner so i headed round to the other side at qaurter time. Along the way i came across big Setant. I told him well done for decking Pavlich before the bounce but then my day got even better when i came across none other that Michael Jamison. No sling which was good. I said hello and he asked for the handball and i gave it. He handballed back so he's shoulder cant be to bad. I then asked him how long he was out for and he said 3 more weeks. I kept wandering around the ground and along the way i came across the likes of: Thornton, Ratten, Swan, Riley, Gibbs, Aisake. I hung around Ratts for a while to see some of his reactions. He was quiet but Riley was not. He told Hartlett to get to the contested situations instead of looking for cheap kicks near the hot dog stand. Hartlett continued on to swear and curse his teamates. I then notcied dick Sutaner doing some stupid things to our blokes so i went to the goal sqaure. I sat near Blackwell Jammo Setant and T-Bird. I was angry so i decided to yelll and scream at Suatner and call him fat. I was joined by Blckawell who told him he was a fat pig and greedy. Me and my mate got stuck into Sautner for the rest of the day. We luaghed at him when he got outmarked and still luaghed at him when he got a goal. He was trying to give hi 5's to our players so i was glad to see him hurt his hand just before the final siren. It was good to see Jamoo and T-bird giving Ozzy tips during the game and also good to see teague smash suatner in the last qaurter
Now on to some of our players.
Ellard- Surprised not to see him named as the Bullants best. Was good on the ground and took a few marks. Got a fair bit of the ball and his disposal was great. Very good performance.
Benji- Faded in and out. Kicked 2 good goals. Wasnt bad wasnt great. Disposal on the up.
Anderson- Played on Oppositions best player, Colin Sylvia. Kept him to 2 or so goals. Didnt get huge amounts of the ball but nor did Sylvia. Disposal is fine just lacks a little but of closing speed.
Ackland- just ackland. Provided the highlite of the day though:D
Armfield- WOW- SPEED MACHINE- Really awesome closing speed when following a lead. Got a bit of the ball and when he gets it he runs. Did a great pickup form a centre bounce and ran to the 50 but missed. Good vision. Good game.
Saddington- Very good mark and used the ball well. Got a bit of it but certainly not BOG for the Antz as reported. Did well though.
jacobs- Good when he got it. Didnt get it that often.
Austin- Good in the first qaurter. Got 4 kicked on him. Another 2 on some other dude and he got another one from a 50m free grom saddington. Started sensationally but probably got beaten. Didnt get much help

I don't think it will happen but I really hope Saddo can turn his career around for the second half of 2008, really rated him at the Swans, injuries have spoiled his career for sure.

the guy is cursed... we potentially could cut our loses and put him on the LTI list and elevate Jacobs or something to give us a little more ruck depth so we dont have to revert to Hackland ever again!

Armfield's report is good... hope he makes his debut soon!:thumbsu:
I also was at the Game yesterday.......As peeps know my fav player is Armfield..... My 19 year old daughter went up to Ratts & asked him if & when Army was/is going to make his debut for the blues......
Ratts reply was "I just want to give him another couple of games in the Ants but he is just about there"
So looking like it maybe soon but who knows as we have T-Bird & Jammo to come back soon so..... don't know where he will fit in the backline.
Just some more to add about that Ackland incident...... was real stupid by him after taking that screamer, everyone was applauding him (as he done something good for a change) then right infront of the umpire (umpire was showing the Zebras player where the mark was, Ackland gets the ball & slams it into the zebra guys face......Ackland got abused by the Ants crowd for doing something soooooo stupid right in front of the ump.....
he got reported, gave away the free kick (when we could have been lining up for goal) & also..... got yellow carded by the up (as they can do that in the VFL. (I asked an official with the Ants club what the yellow card was as I had never seen it happen before in VFL) & he replied sent off for the rest of the qtr.....
also some of the other players there that my daughters spoke to were FEV (he left at half time) & Gibbsy

Great report
What type of role did Benjamin play?
lighten up fella... between this and your "parent" like comment in the robert warnock wiki pedia page thread i assume you've relocated from England recently ;):D
My comments were light-heartered in both threads. The first thing u think when u open this is wow! Good read nonetheless. As for Robert Warnock, open up his wiki page now...glad u found it funny, but its childish humor. (Didn't get your England joke either, anyway)
So perhaps it is you that should lighten up 'fella'; was there really much point in replying to both my comments
Saddington and Ackland will be gawn at years end and good riddance I say :thumbsd:
Ackland had his chance, now I think Saddington should get one last reprive before years end.
He knows he would be playing for his career, so he should get his chance soon hopefully. If he fails, see you later, if not, great, Im certainly not against having some depth.

Fantastic to have such easy and casual access to a senior coach and just as good that he replies so freely and honestly. Love your Bullants/Armfield/Family based comments, tb69. :thumbsu:

Ackland's actions sound like those of a man who knows his footy career is just about over.
Great to hear Army continuing to perform - he appears the only OBVIOUS '100 gamer' yet to debut. Can't wait to see his speed and defensive pressure. :thumbsu:
Not good news re Austin's performance - Waite out provides an opening that a good performance may have seen him fill. Judging from the reports maybe Saddo may take that spot.

I wouldn't be calling Army a hundred gamer at this stage, let alone an obvious one.
