This is what my wish list is for the trade table:
Bell Retire/De-list
Black Retire/De-list
Bradley mobile ruckman
Browne Trade/De-list
Campbell Forward
Carr Josh Midfield
Carr Matt Retired
Crowley Midfield
Dodd Midfield/Defence
Drum Defence/Midfield
Duffield Defence/Midfield
Farmer 1 more year/Match Payments only
Foster Midfield
Gilmore Trade
Grover Defence
Hasleby Midfield
Hayden Defence
Head Midfield
Headland Midfield/Forward
Hinkley Midfield
Ibbotson Midfield
Johnson Mi Defence
Johnson Ma Defence
Mayne Forward/Defence
McManus Retire/De-list
McPharlin Defence
Mundy Defence
Murphy Trade
O’Brien Midfield
Palmer Midfield
Pavlich Forward
Peake Trade/De-list
Sandilands Ruckman
Schammer Trade
Solomon Forward/Midfield
Tarrant Forward
Thorton Trade
Warnock Ruckman
Webster Trade/De-list
The way I see it we need to de-list 8 players and of them we may be able to get 1 or 2 of them (Peake/Browne) that other clubs may consider a trade with
I’d like to trade 4 others as listed if we could get some WA boys who are quality and want home preferably midfielders though another ruckman would be handy..
We should get a few low draft picks this year so overall all is not lost if the club is aggressive, get rid of the old and driftwood. We need to change the culture/expectations fast. If we can get rid of all 12 and we end up with 8 players who are ready to go (including early draft picks) then next year could be an interesting one.

Have to agree with Peake, which is disappointing. I thought he was going to be a gun a couple of years ago.
I'd de-list Headland. He's not a total hack but gets the pay check of a mega star when he's serviceable at best.

Yeah, let's delist a midfielder-forward with pace and kicking skills because that's not what we need.

Anyone that says delist or trade Headland needs their head read, he is our 2nd best player.

I'm sorry but he's nowhere near as reliable as Roger or McPharlap !!
Don't delist or trade, just reduce his contract.
Thats if his knee holds up !!!

He has already had his contract reduced and is on a performance based contract. He has atleast next yr and possibly one more to run on that deal. He ain't going anywhere.

Thats good. I like Dess, but he is very hot & cold.
Thats not just his problem, its most of the team.
I'd de-list Headland. He's not a total hack but gets the pay check of a mega star when he's serviceable at best.
Yeah ...it is not like we are lacking midfield run - lets trade him and try and get a utility flanker who can also play as an undersized ruckman - that is where our greatest need is. Perhaps Cain Ackland is available?
How about a full back. This would free up our backline greatly. Grover has been great but he's often punching above his weight. To be able to have Grove as another back pocket frees up one of our running HBF to play more damaging roles and gives the team greater flexibility in my opinion.:thumbsu:

Are you saying delist him? Thats crazy talk.
I worry about our younger generation and drugs. It seems such a waste.

Umm he came 5th in the Brownlow that year and left because he and his wife wanted to be closer to their families.
Brisbane tried their asses off to keep him.

And they could have kept him as far as I'm concerned.
Lets face it, he was very lucky to be in the team for most of last year, and wouldn't have been if it wasn't for cuddles automatic selection policy, and his attitude and performance has stunk since he has arrived.
With injuries, he may be lucky to be around for another season.

Do you actually watch this team play football? You have little to no idea.

His best is.
When he decides to actually play for the 3 or 4 games a year.
What really was the final straw for me was last year after that brawl with Selwood, and the acquittal at the tribunal. He comes out and said he looked forward to playing that week. When, if he had any idea about his form, would have known he couldn't get a kick and would have been worried about his spot in the team. And IMO should have been dropped.
Yep, that really got up my nose.

Gee.. I actually agree with Wizard, Des wasn't too bad last year. Love to see some stats, especially his Inside 50's. His delivery was as good as any other midfielder and he chimed in for 25 or so goals from memory in in 17 games.

Sure he has oodles of talent and does not always apply it - frustrating absolutely.
I thought he had been reasonably good this season for us and at the moment we have bigger issues than Des.

This is plain wrong. I was a Headland basher myself, but 2007 was easily his best year for the club. I've been underwhelmed by his efforts in 2008, however.

Certainly. His consistency is always going to be his legacy.
And we certainly are missing his penetrating kicking and delivery into the forward line this season.
And to his credit, he has always been good in big games, which would have been more than handy.
But for mine, he has never lived up to his cost.

I worded that badly.
How I meant that to come across, was that he should have spent some of the time in the 2s. Especially early in the season. It wasn''t until the heat really came on, that he did something. And it seemed to be under Harvey who said that there was no automatic selection, where he really performed.

Fair enough. If you recall, he was close to BOG in the game after his acquittal for attacking Selwood. It was against Carlton and he got a heap of the footy, used it well and kicked a number of goals.
In fact, this fact alone is a savage indictment of Headland as a player. It took that kind of motivation (personal attacks etc) to get him to play to the top of his ability? Has he reproduced that kind of form since then? Don't think so.

It was against Melbourne. Headland's attack on the ball since then has been second to none.

I thought it was against Melbourne... anyway.. it was at the G and he was blowing kisses to the crowd etc. And yep, I remember.
And yes, that's what I'm saying with the heat. It's only when he's seemingly playing for his career, that he plays like he cares. Pathetic.

He led the league for Inside 50's after about round 8-9 last season until he injured his quad i believe it was and then spent most of his time for the enxt month inside the 50.
His best season in the AFL no doubt.

Geez guys watch the game. He was ordinary for his first few years but last year he was very, very good. Oh and to all those who says he's only good when we win go through the tapes last year.
Far out he's more than required at our football club.
