For Me:

Goodes
McLeod
Wanganeen
O'Laughlin
Matera
Long
S Burgoyne
G Johncock
Johnson

In the next 5 years S Burgoyne should become the greatest Aboriginal footballer of all time. If not, he should be at least top 3. I expect Stiffy should jump up to top 5.

Surprised Polly Farmer isn't higher in the rankings. Changed the face of rucking singlehanded - and there aren't too many players who can say they changed the way the game is played (Cox would be the most important ruckman since Farmer, for the same reason).

I guess his lack of popularity has a lot to do with the passing of years - most of the people voting wouldn't have seen him play or would have forgotten his impact.

Agreed. He's not in the same class as Mcleod, Goodes, Wanganeen, Farmer etc.

I'm amazed that Barry Cable didn't get a mention. Cable is one of the all-time greats of Aussie Rules football.

Perhaps he was overlooked because of his appearance but Barry Cable was part-aboriginal in spite as being white as Persil with blonde hair.

I'm guessing Polly Farmer didn't win because not many of the people voting saw him play.

I'd have him number 1

A few guys on the next tier down, Wanganeen, McLeod, the great Stephen Michael, the sublime Barry Cable, Michael "Flash" Graham, David "Soapy" Kantilla, Maurice Rioli, Goodes & Peter Matera

I'd be going on reputation, as most people would considering how long ago he played, but in my mind I have always considered Polly Farmer the best. This is just from what I've read about his impact on the game of Australian Football and the limited vision I've seen of him.

For Macca to get voted as the greatest indigenous player ever (most significantly by a panel of his peers) is a fantastic honour.

Utter class and a top person to boot.
