- we can't afford to give up our 1st and/or 2nd Round Draft picks at such a critical time in the clubs football cycle.
- He (Carey) has chronic physical problems relating to long term injuries. His shoulder in particular is shot to pieces.
- He has been out of the game for a season. I don't care how much he has been going to the Gym, its not match fitness and a 31yo just can't take a year out of the game and expect tpo slot right back in, even if he is Carey.
- As usual with these aging Marquee players that the club shows a fetish for, he just won't take playing in Sydney for the Swans seriously enough. He will probably use his time here to get a nice post-footy job lined up :rolleyes: :mad:
- What would we do with him anyway ? The SCG is too short for a true CHF, CHB seems the place to put him, but is the club seriously considering elbowing Saddington out of the backline to make way for Carey ?:( Other than that its FF (sorry Barry) or a Foward Pocket maybe ?
The idea of Wayne Carey playing in Sydney for the Swans in a Foward Pocket is frankly absurd !
oh yeah and finally - Carey coming to the Swans would certainly generate alot of publicity, of the wrong kind I would guess
