Stunning, awesome, amazing.

And he knew what he was doing, no fluke about it.

Freakish goal, followed it up but yelling "what's my name, what's my name"?
Lol.

1 min last quarter. One of the best of the season. Dribbler from outside of right foot in pocket.

Ran back yelling "what's my name?? what's my name??". Interesting celebration...

Very good goal. Was that Westhoff with the sense of occasion to shephard it thru?

Great Goal though. Not so sure about the celebration......

Brilliant goal. We seem to be seeing the brilliant on a weekly basis thus far in 08.

Seems pretty standard fare for Motlop to do something completely stupendous each week. Was my favourite player in his time in blue and white. Why Daniel, why? :o

Can someone describe it?
Running into the forward pocket, 20 out, ball going to the boundary line, picked it up with a player on his hammer, looked to turn away from goal, then turned quickly outwards along the boundary line, and in the same motion an "inside-out" Daicos special ,took 2 curved bounces and went through.

will the kangaroos fans ever concede that Motlop is a talented player and it was their club that was the problem?

DR got right - His name is Superfreak.

Some of the goals this bloke has kicked this year are unbelievable, he defies the law of averages.

The Fox commentary were saying it was the best goal they have ever seen, I am just checking it out on the IQ now.

Go the Superfreak.

I think he does alot of good things, quite often he tries to do too much. He could be frustrating to support.

A cheque side on the run, under pressure, from 50 metres out isn't as hard as a 1 metre backheel, we all know that.

Nope, not at all....

He does it every week, theirs alot of highlight players in our team, and he's the best.

Ha.

Try watching your team draft him, watch him play lots of VFL footy and do things you have never seen on a football field every second minute, watch him get comfortable at AFL level with awesome glimpses and then deal with him ____ing off back home after being given twice the attention and care by coaching staff afforded to other players. I love watching the bloke, but I want to see someone knock him out at the same time.

I have watched him play for 8 years, at all levels. Nothing he could ever do with a football could surprise me. He is a ____ing circus act.

I was dumbfounded, his goal had no competition at all last year and he still didn't win it.

This one today will be hard to beat for the rest of the year.

Most likely will be goal of the year unless Lloydy pips him again with another mediocre back heel from 3 millimetres out.

Mark my words, Daniel Motlop is the most freakishly skillful player in the country as we speak. Any time the bloke has the ball within about 70 metres of goal, you would be worried as an opposition supporter that he can create something to score a goal.

Yes he's talented but let's not get carried away - he's best described as enigmatic. He's hot when he's hot, but when the blow torch is on, like last years GF the guy goes MIA very much like Neon did for us early on in his career (remember - no touches in the 03' GF). When he becomes more than just a goal sneak then I don't think North will miss him very much.

Great goal though but I'm getting a bit tired of Collingwood players getting out trumped in the GOTY and MOTY stakes. Remember Thomas was robbed last year when he was deemed out of bounds by an umpire 50m away, Tarrant took an absolute blinder in 2003 Michael Roach style against Melbourne only to be beaten by that nobody Moorcroft in the only thing he did in his career.

Still, there's been about 10 contenders already for GOTY so I imagine Motlop's will be outdone yet.

And NO he is not hard to support at all. He always does it right!

This is GOTY based on last years winner.

It's a bit hard too star in a GF when the ball never gets into our 50, our midfield were smashed so badly in the GF last year that a Buddy Franklin on 10 Richard Cole's would not have kicked a goal.
Motlop was great in the Prelim and qualifying finals.

Also, why the hell was this thread moved to gameday and the Dale Thomas goal thread was kept on the main board. _____ weak moderaters.

Firstly, It wasn't the club at all. It was personal.

Secondly, we knew he was a good player hence the reason when he asked the club to be traded, we managed to talk him in to staying on for another year.

Thirdly, you are a Dawks supporter. You should see Michael Firrito running around......

The ____ing Lloyd party trick.

He stole Carey's GotW nomination in 1999 (yes, Lloyd's half-volley hack out of the air from 20m out > Carey's left-footed checkside falling backwards over the boundary line) and he stole Motters' GotY award in 2007.

Picking novelty over skill is poor to very poor.
