Has anyone in Adelaide heard about FILA's retreat from Australian football codes' kit sponsorship. Allegedly, it has been a financial disaster to the tune of millions of "dollars, Aust". It was in the Hun this morning, with all FILA sponsored clubs having to find new kit and apparel suppliers for next year:
Adelaide = Russell Athletic (same as Kangaroos)
Essendon = Puma (Sydney)
Geelong = Slazenger (?)
Melbourne = Asics (?)
Bulldogs = Burleigh-Sekem (St Kilda)
Melb Storm = ?
Looks like its time to buy thos things you like in the current range, if you dont mind wearing out of date clothing. (I personally still have + love my 1991 AFC guernsey).

Ahh, that'd be why I didn't hear it until today. I have much better things to do with my time than waste 2 hours on the Eddie "luv you Bucks" McCollingwood magpie propaganda piece that Goebbels would have been proud of.
It's unfortunate, as I like Fila gear. I will start paying attention to the North gear now so I can have an educated guess as to what we are likely to get next year.

I was happy with the FILA range that the Crows had. It was some what more updated than the Adidas range.
Russell Athletic had better pull something good out or I won't be impressed :(

Was having a look in the Fans Guide that I got in one of the early rounds' Footy Record. The merchandise that Russell Athletic puts out for North Melbourne, Brisbane and Freo looks pretty good. Seems like the board made the right choice wrt the new kit sponsor. Look forward to getting the new merchandise cattle-dog next year.
In the meantime, I might have to get myself over to Crowmania to get my grubby littles on some 'run out' gear.
The RA gear that I have seen the North Melbourne club wear looks pretty good.
Hopefully the new deal will also involve a new away strip. I'd like to see the club use the Ansett Cup jumper from a few years back that had the big Crow on it with the red & yellow background.
