Maybe a result of fire/explosion in Texas affecting 9000 servers and 7,500 customers around the world. Currently my coy website and email down and have been down now about 24 hours as result of this
Server : SR000 -
Our data centre in Texas feature the highest security measures, 24-hour manned monitoring and one other masterful safeguard: redundancy, redundancy, redundancy. Our network connects to over 25 Gigabits of Internet bandwidth.
An explosion Saturday evening [31/05/2008] at this datacentre has caused server outages effecting 9,000 servers and 7,500 customers.
At about 5 p.m. Saturday electrical gear shorted, creating an explosion and fire that knocked down three walls surrounding their electrical equipment room.
No injuries were reported and no servers were damaged or lost.
Monday 4:28pm (AET) After the fire marshall inspected the H1 location, we were given the green light to bring power back to the facility. The generators have been turned on, and we are receiving power on the second floor. The generator power restoration is the first step in the full restoration of service to the data center.
From here, we will begin the process of cooling the DC floor, which could take a few hours. As soon as the power integrity is confirmed and the DC floor is ready for operation, we will be restoring power and checking server hardware on a rack-by-rack basis

Big Footy policy is to not publise other football fan websites and this thread would normally be removed.
Plus
Hawthorn Board policy is not to get involved in disputes with other Hawthorn fan sites nor allowing this board to be used to attack other Hawthorn fan sites.
However, as matter of public service to all Hawthorn fans this thread should remain until the server problem is fixed.

Thanks, Rusty.
No disputes or problems, just a public service announcement.
I'm sure the same would happen on MH if this site went down for any length of time (as has happened on odd occasions in the past).
I emailed Jayson to find out what was happening with the site, and he wasn't a happy camper.
Your explanation makes perfect sense.
thanks guys!
i'm off to bed then...Goodnight mate.

I would have thought your company's date centre would have a backup facility available ensuring a seemless changeover if one data centre goes down.
I would also think MH has decided not to pay for this option/service with its service provider.
