View Full Version : Do you guys know venues where rock cover bands play? Lookin for gigs
Gday guys,
Its about as off topic as it gets, but do you guys know any good venues where rock cover bands play?
I have one that is ready for gigs and we are better then most, just need to start finding the venues to heckle at.
If you guys know the names of places that i could hit up that would be great.
I went to Precinct once on a Friday in Richmond, a band was playing then.

Head Down Moorabbin-Cheltenham Way. Most of the hotel/restaurants around here have thursday/friday/saturday night cover bands playing. Best places are the Sandbelt Hotel (south road) and Waltzing Matilda Hotel (Heatherton Road Noble Park). not sure how much they pay, but if you are looking to just perform, let them know that you will without charging them and they would probably get you on quick smart

Good news and bad news,
Good news is my band are playing at the Swan in Richmond every Friday in July starting the 3rd. Bad news is I wont be able to watch the god damn Geelong Hawthorn game live!!!! I will be able to see it in between sound checking though...
If any of you guys go out on the piss after the game come have a beer and sing some tunes with us.

Ah gigging, i used to have what i considered the best 14 year old hard rock/punk band ive been in, unfortunatly a few blokes in the band were a-holes, and we wer'nt good enough to get invites back after breaking shit
The Swan on a friday! Thats my local for after work drinks, I'm fairly sure I'll meet you at some stage over the month. Hopefully it isn't as messy as it was the Friday just passed
....and the name of the band is .......
Kickstarter is the name, we just play pub/pop rock.
Im the lead singer. Im trying to convince the band to learn the Hawthorn song but they aint too keen. I might just have to go it solo.

I was going to suggest the Revolver band room on Chapel. Good place to get started and gain exposure.

I've been there twice and have heard both bands playing covers and playing their own material.

If your out tonight pop into the Swan in Richmond. We start at 10:30pm until late playing pub rock covers. Im the singer so come have a yarn in the breaks if you make it down there.
