View Full Version : Robin Nahas
Robin Nahas, what an absolute Gun!
What are your thoughts on this kid?
Will someone take a punt on him?
I think they will!!

robin, making a thread about yourself is very low.
No actually, I am a Borough supporter and I have followed Robin's progress over the last couple of years.
have read a few articles in Inside footy recently (about Robin), which states to me that this kid is getting noticed.
Plus I wouldn't have thought any footballer would be that egotistical that they would start a thread about themselves

Bit quiet for most of the match the other day, with the exception of a purple patch during the latter half of the second quarter where he ran amok.
Kicked a bunch of goals to get Port back into the match when the Snivels looked like they were going to run away with it.
Good little cameo that :thumbsu:

I like him, reminds me of a much smaller Robert Murphy.

How tall is he?
175 cm and 65kg.
This kid will be on the AFL recruiter's radar this year.
22 goals as a small forward, 21 pos. ave. I believe recruiters are looking for the next Rioli,Davey bros, milne and he fits the bill.
He maybe out for a couple of weeks though with a badly broken nose

sorry..i just always thought he was older as I've watched his career since his junior days:o
Well if he's performing there is always a chance he'll get a shot on a rookie list. Djaren Whyman got one at the Kangas aged 22, and of course we know of Aaron Davey and Aaron Edwards.

Played very well in the SANFL game.
I'm sure a few SANFL teams took note...
Doesn't look big enough for AFL, and basically if you haven't got there by 20 you wont.
P.S. is is surname pronounced No-arse?

This guy was sensational in the state game, I like the look of him, would love it if North signed him up.

Whyman went off the list as quick as he went on it, and Edwards and Davey were always a class above VFL level. In fact if not for his off field discrepencies, I'd venture to say Edwards would still be at West Coast. Nahas is far too light. He'd get killed at AFL level.

Just because he's small doesn't mean he'll get killed, that's a fairly narrow minded point of view.
If you honestly think that AFL players are far more superior in body size than VFL, well youre dillusional.
N. Carmody and co. believe Robin will at least be AFL rookie listed, but hey they've got nothing over you.
Anyway, they'll have to catch Robin first hahah..... go back into your little piehole!!

Why are you taking this personally? Is that you Robin, or relative of Robin? :)
He has talent but he's simply too small. I'm in the States at the moment so I didn't see our last match against Hawthorn. But could you imagine the mess a Luke Hodge would make of him? And he would catch him. To exist at that level and that kind of weight you've gotta be a Matty Campbell. And a Matty Campbell, Robin isn't. I'd fear for his life at AFL level.
But he is certainly a determined player, and if he whacks a bit of beef on, who knows. But, as is, I'd be disappointed if we picked him up. Even as a rookie.

Mike Sheehan? Is that you? It must be as you have NFI!!
I am not taking it personally, I just think your post had no substance, particulary when you probably haven't seen much of Robin Nahas.
There are light bodies in football such as;
-C.Rioli, Davey bros, L. Jetta, E.Betts, S. Milne, etc (I m not going to name them all) who aren't yet ''killed'' as you put it because of their lightly built frames. They have footy smarts, they have speed, they have deceptive body strengths and they have the evasiveness.
Robin has all of the above plus fantastic defensive pressure, which is why I believe an AFL club will pick him, because that's how footy is going. They are looking for the little guys who have these attributes .
and if he whacks a bit of beef on, who knows.
Have you ever pondered that if Robin did get picked up, the club would surely try to bulk him up?
And yes he's no Matt Campbell... because Campbell is a hack!!

Would prefer to see him in a borough jumper forever(failing that a Rooster jumper!!!)
*abc2 rant on* Would also prefer it if i could see him on telly too:mad:

Obviously you don't watch too many Kangas games, because Matty Campbell is a star. As for Nahas, he's certainly got a chance of getting a rookie-list position, however he is going to have to do something exceptional to get noticed. You saw it with Aaron Edwards, he wasn't just a flashy player - he dominated the VFL like no other player has in the previous 10 years. Nahas has got a chance, but he'll have to start getting bags of goals and impressing recruiters week-in week-out.

If you say so.

I have seen plenty of Robin Nahas.
There are light bodies in football such as;
-C.Rioli, Davey bros, L. Jetta, E.Betts, S. Milne, etc (I m not going to name them all) who aren't yet ''killed'' as you put it because of their lightly built frames. No, but they all have a lot more ability than Robin, thats why they're on an AFL list and Robin isn't. You mentioned Leroy Jetta. He was one of the most sought after players in the country prior to being drafted and Milne has kicked 11 goals in a game, and was probably the reason behind them getting over North. These guys are a class above Nahas.

I couldn't agree more.
Have you ever pondered that if Robin did get picked up, the club would surely try to bulk him up?
What, and lose all the attributes that would go with it? Look I would love for Robin to become an AFL footballer. He has everything the fans of the game love. I just don't think he's good enough.
And yes he's no Matt Campbell... because Campbell is a hack!!
Campbell is on an AFL list and if came out of contract tomorrow would have clubs lining up for his service's. Erm, hack?

Nahas will probably get rookie listed. but until you see him playing in a preseason game or some sort of AFL standard, im afraid that nobody can be sure whether he is good enough. I dare say, that if there were 18 sides in the comp at the moment, he would be on a list. might miss out. there have been plenty who are good VFL players that arnt quite up to AFL standard. The proof will remain in the pudding boys!

Played against him a fair bit in juniors. Very talented but would probably get thrown around like a rag doll at AFL level. Hopefully he gets an opportunity though cos he is a good bloke.

I think he'll be drafted rather than rookied. I look at my clubs rookies and this guy is way ahead of them, reminds me a lot of the Davey bros. He is lightly framed but so are others playing AFL so its not a huge issue. Showed in the game against Tassie he is a matchwinner.
He's got to be close, pacy and skillful players are gold in the AFL these days

Word is: Better than Aaron Davey at VFL level - says alot for the kid.
Kicked 49 goals for the season, and seems to have bulked up a little bit over the past season which will certainly improve his chances of AFL recruitment

Seems to be the stand out player in the VFL this season (like Valenti was at S'ham last year). I think he is an outside chance to be drafted but a definate for a rookie spot somewhere.
Any other young VFL listed guys that are a chance to be on an AFL list next year.
Perhaps Blair Holmes and Stuart Crameri from Bendigo would have to be looked at by Ess for a rookie spot. Both did extremely well in what was a nightmare season for the Bombers.

I believe Nahas will have a massive game against the Bees. Watch out Levi Greenwood!
As for other VFL listed guys that are a chance;
Chris Cain , maybe even Toby Pinwall.I believe Alex Silvagni is a massive chance

Evasive, quick, great football brain, class act.:thumbsu:
And follows a decent line of former Fothergill medalists.

Exactly, and yet the funny thing is that Sunday was probably his quietest game for the year; was outshone by Jonathan Mullins.
Nahas has been holding his own in the VFL for three years now. This year he's reached a new level and - with AFL clubs extending their rookie lists next year - he looks almost certain to be drafted sometime in either the National or Pre-Season Draft.
