For those interested Tim Rogers and his band will be laying waste to The East Brunswick Club on Saturday night - if you're after a night of rock action I highly recommend you get along and show a bit of support to a damned fine musician who bleeds blue and white.

Definitely, definitely get on it... caught him up here late last year and early this year and it is definitely an impressive set.

Looking forward to his next foray into olde Sydney towne.

Ordinarily I'd be there too but I've got mates playing at the Northcote and at the Pony on Saturday night as well. Too many options on the same night....

Ohhhhhh, yeah. That place.

Much like you, Senor Wizard, I was quite the fan of Mr.Rogers' acoustic set last year. In fact, I think in my post-gig summation of the evening I described it as "mesmerising", or words to that effect. (Whatever phrase I thought seemed like the best way to suck-up to Tim.)

But I did notice that the OP used the word "band". So maybe this will be a more fleshed-out affair, rather than the intimate, acoustic guitar + piano shows we witnessed last year. Just a guess.

Of course we could get it straight from the horse's mouth, but an equine Boner is a truly frightening thing.

Yes, what time does it start ? Good question, Nick.

A nice, on-topic-y question, that one.

I like it.

And that Tim Rogers.....well, he's just splendid.

Doors open 8.30 - there is a support band The Hampdens.

I'm not sure what time Mr Rogers takes the stage - I believe he will have his backing band The Temperance Union with him - I think last time I saw them they finished with a rip roaring cover of the MC5 classic Kick Out The Jams.

And no Crazy Q there will not be any rap crap!

Is that the same club where Lewis Moran met his maker??? or am i thinking of the Brunswick Club ?

Have fun guys i'll be sipping a few cold ones in Cairns on sat night, probably in the sports bar at the Casino watching whichever game is on fox sports.

Last time I saw them they played a rip snorting Rock N Roll by Led Zepplin cover. Awesome.

Nah, that's the Brunswick Club in Sydney Rd.

No murders in the East Brunswick recently...at least to my knowledge.

Yes, that place.

And yes, you did use the word mesmerising.

And yes, I did see an intimate, man and pianist (the fantastic Louis Macklin, not little Tim) performance at Sydney's The Basement.

But you will notice I said I saw him at the start of this year, which was with full band, nay, orchestra at the Hunter Valley.

If it's the Temperance Union backing him, excellent, though this line-up I saw was pretty sweet (and I believe had a couple of his TU mates).

Hanging out for his next foray up this way. I know he is hitting Tasmania in mid-June but I also know that he is getting ready to record the new YAI slab in Sin City some time soon, so I am keeping my eye out.

I hear good things about The Hampdens too.

What a fine old night it was too! Boner started out in acoustic mode with various members of the Temperance Union making their appearance on stage culminating in a ferocious version of Kick Out The Jams as the finale.
Much fun!

Couldnt make it, was at work and finished around 1, so would be no point in rocking up at 1.30 or so.

I did, however, get smashed.

Great photos btw.
