Just an observation..
Have Channel Nine reacted to the Sam Newman issues by changing there adverts during TFS last night??
What happened to 'the girlfriend' add (you know the one) - dont think it was run once last night. Is TFS still sponsored by Jim Beam??
Is the pressure from the womens groups getting to Channel Nine - we know whats happened and whats been said by the station about Sam but how far has it really gone
Thoughts

The Jim Beam girlfriend ad is probably the worst on TV, sets women back at least a billion years. I'm actually amazed women's groups didn't protest it, especially as it takes a not-so-subtle submissive sexual twist towards the end
The uncomfortable look of semi-exploitation on her face as she has to say "He can do whatever he wants, I don't care." at the end is priceless.

Someone like Caro has to tell them it's bad m'kay first. They can't work it our for themselves.
The Footy Show hasn't been sponsored by Jim Beam all year. Last year they were, along with Foxtel. This year it is Foxtel and Crazy Johns as major sponsors.

It's possible that that look at the end is why women aren't up in arms. It pretty much subverts the whole fantasy -- makes it so obvious that the character (as opposed to the actress) is just pretending. I'm surprised the advertiser left it in. (Depressingly, men enjoying the fantasy wouldn't mind at all -- just as long as she's there and does and says the right things.)

I'm a chick and I find the ad funny - for that very reason.
Also she appears to be a very high-maintenance kinda girl, (manicured, possibly fake-boobed, goes to the gym, great hair and make-up, great furniture) who may be just using her man for his money and the lifestyle that comes with it. That's why there's no outcry about it.
From a women's point of view - especially the hairy -legged and armpitted feminists (which I am absolutely not!) - it still makes men look silly and one-track minded, Caro would love that!
nb, I am in no way personally slagging men off, it's just the way some women may perceive it. :o
Any girl who can't see the humour in it is just jealous I say.
