Cornes?

Cornes?

Like I said, a forward and back utility.

Yer Cornes.

Are you forgetting he was a CHF for 3 years then a CHB for 2 years. He can play literally any position which is what a utility does and he is the best at it.

Why does the name Cornes always get left out of these polls ( the best brothers poll as example)? Far and away the best utility, with Pavlich the other, in comp. YEt we get to choose between Petrie!!?, McPharlin and Hunter? More thought in the choices required.

What? He can't play forward and back?

Pavlich wins this in a canter.

I voted Hunter, but the winner is actually Cornes.

Cornes>>>>>>>>>>>>Pavlich.

I voted for that guy "Other"

On a side note those three guys wouldn't tie Chad Cornes's shoelaces combined as Utility footballers.

Cornes can play up forward. Bad selection of players to choose from, should include Chad and Pav

You make a very good point if you forget the three years he played as a full forward

so do you but you left out he did nothing in those years. Thats why he was moved to CHB after all if he was an effective forward he would never of been moved in the first place!

Hahahahaha looks like a spud and plays like a spud. Scott Stevens couldn't even get a job cleaning Cornses undies.

does bock not rate a mention in this poll
clearly the best forward/back in the game
(assuming goodes and chad don't count)

Thread Creator, change the poll so it is actually some what relevant and reflects who is in fact the best UTILITY in the game. Excluding Cornes and Pavlich is a joke, they are easily better than the rest of the blokes.

How can you forget Luke Hodge? He'd get my vote.

Chad is the best Utility in the AFL closely followed by Luke Hodge. I dont know why you would rule out Midfield ability in a UTILITY poll????

The more abilities you have across the ground, the less it makes you a utility! Thanks to the OC I'm confusing myself now!

Cornes or Pavlova.

Even Scott Lucas would get a mention before those three players (yes he has played down back on numerous occasions).

He's a good player but not even close to Cornes or Pavlich. He's more on a par with McPharlin and Hunter

Cornes is a good utility but Pavlich is a lot better playing forward than he is and very good back aswell (AA FB)

Cornes/Pavlich.

Pavlich is a better forward, and can play anywhere, but IMO, a fully fit team full of Chad Corneses would beat a fully fit team full of Matthew Pavlichs. Better in the midfield.

Not by much, and I am biased. It's clearly these two anyway, no one else is close.

haha, he can play Half Back, Midfield and Half Forward...how versitile! i mean i dont know any players that can do that, he is certainly one of a kind.

judd could play half back or half forward if it wasnt a waste of his game time.

Meh, still better than petrie. The OP's choices are crap though.
Richo in his running back into defence role?
Mooney used to play down back.
Waite is better than those listed.

When he goes forward, he is extra damaging then the other utilities, a few times has kicked bags of 6. In the backline, his drive on the rebound is huge, he can still kick 3 or 4 running off HB (see his last 2 games). He only played half the game against the Pies and had 3?? from half back.

As much as I like Hodge he's not as versatile as Pav and certainly not as good a player as Pav.

Granted. I think Pav is better forward and great running from HB (I think he and Hodge are very close in backline ability), though Hodgies ability in the Midfield is better then Pavs.

I see them both on equal pegging (Sorry, forgot to add him with Hodge/Cornes):thumbsu:

Hodge has far better skills, Vision and footy smarts.

Pav > Hodge CHF, CHB, FF, FB
Hodge > Pav EVERYWHERE ELSE

When Pav goes in the middle he has all the grunt of a Z4 driving hairdresser. Hodge's attack on the ball is as good as anyone in the comp.

So Pav is a much more valuable player:D By everywhere else you mean the midfield and onball. Pav would beat Hodge in the ruck
