Won't be back to round 14 at the earliest, according to the injury report. Don't believe he's doing contact training just yet, although he is taking part in non-contact drills.

Our current injury list consists of 6 players who would all start in our best 22. Walker, Jamison, Bannister, Hadley, Houlihan & Bower....

No way is Houlihan in our best 22 any more, or ever again by the way the team is moving forward now.

Houla will be a very good player in a very good team so don't judge him just yet.

Agree. Important to our side. Will be awesome now that we don't need him in the back half (Browne, Armfield, etc)

Hopefully when they bring him back it's in the forward half. I guess we can only hope :p;)

He'll be hoping for injuries to get a game because he's simply not as good as any of those already in the team ahead of him.

Trade him for a 2nd or 3rd rounder at the end of the year whilst he's still worth at least that. Essendon or Melbourne will take him.

Out of the 22 that played yesterday, who isn't Houlihan better than?

i dont't know bout you guys but i'd definately want houlihan running around the forwardline instead of wiggins... Wiggins has been playing a HFF possie that would be much better filled by a creative Houla. He definately fits in for mine..

houlihan and betts would be very dangerous around goals together. Just make sure they get hoops out of the backline damnit

Hoops has been used to fill in the gaps down back the past few years when really his most suited position is on a HFF/wing.

Has sublime skills and can really hurt the opposition with his disposal.

Gets the nod over a few others in my mind and can't wait to have him back in the side :thumbsu:

i agree with the majority on here, i reckon houla will be sweet when he returns. that sucks we can get a full team out there uninjured, with jamo, bower, bannister, houlahan, hadlee and especially walks, man that sounds like we have some depth.
exciting times, cant wait to tackle the pies this week, it looks like we have a little bit of a kinder draw for the next 4 weeks, things are looking good for the future!

Well if you want him to play in position then you'd have to boot Fisher out or Russell, who played HFF last night and seems to have had his best game ever. Either them or don't have a resting Judd or Murphy on the HFF.

...but to answer your question he isn't better than any of our players who took the park last night imo. He may have been blessed with more natural skill, but he hasn't got anything else going for his game. He had his chance in a good team when he first started and was a floating, inconsistent, downhill skier. He hasn't changed his game since then.

Ratts played with him, let's see how much Ratts thinks of him when he's fit and playing. I'm betting "not a whole lot". I think he probably has 3 games for the Navy Blues left for him in his career before he is shipped off.

i don't think houla deserves all of the abuse he gets but wiggins is hard as nails. i know who i'd rather see running back into a pack to take a mark. likewise with defensive pressure in our forward line, i trust wiggo to give everything to hold the ball in & his finishing isn't that bad either from 30-55 out.
