The way it should be. You will be able to see some of the future stars of the competition. Very lucky. Neagle will come back in this week and Hislop is a real chance also. You will see plenty of young guns from Essendon. Unfortunate that Gumbleton wont be playing this Friday but be patient and you will see him in the next month.

If I wanted to watch VFL standard footy I'd tune in to the Phil Cleary and the boys on ABC. As for Gumbleton, the only coverage he's likely to get is on RPA - chronic hamstring unit for overrated duds.

How were they to know how the teams would be traveling 6 months in advance? They probably thought that the Bulldogs were not going to be a team to get high ratings given they came 4th last last year.

Eagles and Essendon have a strong rivalry going way back to Sheedy vs Malthouse and the clashes are generally good spectacles regardless of the teams' ladder position.

Don't write it off yet.

We saw some on Saturday night too. Unfortunately for Essendon fans, Kennedy and Morton showed more talent than anything under wearing red and black.

Big call, tucky.

You've probably been tuned out of what's been happening for most of the modern era because you haven't been a part of it.

Until a bloke approached you and said, "I am the messiah...how about a f___?" - then you woke up.

As requested above, please explain the relationship between salary cap cheating and just one of the "2 won whilst exceeding the salery[sic] cap" - 2000.

If you can't, then I'll leave you to meander around your fantastical, Buddy-coloured dreamworld.

Nope. We cheated and it payed off. Poor Carlton bastards, they cheated. Made the GF. Got beaten AND got severely penalised.

They should've taken a leaf outta our book on how to do it properly.:)

More like we should have stacked the AFL with our supporters like the bummers did.

We were never charged or convicted of cheating the cap in an year we won a flag. You have. Big difference.

Hey f***wit, I've got foxtel, my argument is that the Bombres get a disproportionate amount of FTA games for a side that has been ordinary for 3 or 4 years now.

how many points have essednon conceded? and how many have carlton conceded?
ur backline is a joke
dustbin is on his last legs, mal is shit house, patty rider is like ur best defender which is sad actually
at least we have a young, developing backline that has a future
mal and distbin have no future at essendon after this year

Start petition.

Got it.

Seriously you are an idiot, ask Kennett,Robson and the rest of your powerbrokers what the Hawks would choose, Friday night or Saturday arvo.
They would choose Friday night.

10 Jun 2008, 01:19
fact is, the 2 contests that these sides had in 07 were rippers! sure they are not going to be the same teams of previous years (missing judd, hird, etc) but these clubs have a great rivalry and generally play good close games of footy. Im sure in the end everyone enjoys watching a game that goes down to the wire between 2 clubs that have a history against each other. plus this year the stakes are different as they are in a 4 horse race for the wooden spoon, something that they both dont have many of and probably dont want any in future.
its good to see the bottom 4 sides throwing up a bit of a contest each week of late. competition is very even and everything is wide open
