We were the hospital handpass specialists earlier this year but signs last week and more so this week that they are getting the hang of this running out of half back. It is just unlucky we lost our 2 key forwards this year. We would have won this easily today with neitz and robbo.

I like what I see (in patches) very, very much...
With Garland and Warnock looking good, all we need is a key forward. :) Any good ones bar Hurley?

I think he is more of a natural forward than Hurley as well.
Watching over the past few weeks has given me a lot of hope for our future. Running out of the backline, on the whole, has improved out of sight.
Same goes for the center stoppages. As frustrating as handballing can be sometimes, you can see that there is a reason for it most of the time.

I agree entirely the game is coming together. The first half in particular was very good. Couple of handpasses inboard and running through the centre square. One big, leading target was needed - but, great signs. McLean and Jones in the packs brilliant - just needed Flash out there to receive the handballs.

With the list as it is, I agree things are much better in patches. Just seems like more than ever the team was six weeks behind ten other teams at the start of the season.
It's a long road, though, due to so many getting their way and ending the previous priority draft pick system that so helped Hawthorn, Collingwood, Western Bulldogs and St. Kilda.
Just finished watching the game, I had recorded it, and it was a cracking match. You remind me a lot of the Eagles at the moment, with a number of young players in the team, so you are up and down a fair bit, even within a game. However, you didn't let Collingwood maul you (like we did) or get too far away from you. Like the looks of Garland, Warnock, Jones, Sylvia, Wonnamieri, Morton. OK some of them did some silly things, Morton's kicks were about the worst I have ever seen him execute (watched a bit of him last year here in the west), but they kept fighting. And, like the Eagles, it's the more experienced players letting you down in decision making and doing the right thing at the right time.
Today's match was as good an advertisement for the real game of footy (not the handbag stuff the AFL wants us all to accept) as I have seen this year. Good luck for the rest of the year. :thumbsu:

played on jack watts for a bit in a school game. he has it all. can take strong pack marks, good leap, pace, is extremely good below the knees and has an accurate kick. would be very good to have him at melbourne.

Signs are pretty good i must say. As demonman highlighted, the work of McLean, Jones and Moloney in the packs was great, winning the contested ball and getting it out to Bruce, Green, Morton who are finding good space. Junior has led them well for some time now and will keep doing what he does until he retires, but it's the others' turn to step up.
Good to see some quick movement of the ball into the forward line before the Pies had a chance to run back. Sylvia presented well in general, just needs to work on his goalkicking a bit (aim at the left goalpost like Neita!). Bater just had a bad day at the office, he's better than that.
Signs are just one thing though - you need to improve upon them, and i'm confident that we will.

I like the look of the "Wave" offense when we get it right. It rips into the forward 50 and the defenders are flat footed.
All we need is for the goals to come, rather more pitch and pass.

I agree, the handballs are still poor at times but the players are slowly getting there and with a very young group we can only expect them to continue to improve.
I like the 'wave' (As ExTasDeesMan termed it) offense but we can't have Aussie as the forward down there all the time, need to have a tall down there with him.
