View Full Version : 7th in Dream Team
That's it fellas, the young rooster who "shoots his bullets too early" is 7th in dream team out of 190,000 people. By the end of it, i might have a nicer car then most of you, and have to put the L plates on the back.
Great work mate, i got in the top 1500 last year and thought that was good. Who have been your great value picks if you don't mind sharing. I am currently sitting around 8000 regretting my midfield and backline selections

Go Fairley! We're behind you.

Since day one i have had Luke Ball, Deledio, Gary Ablett, Robert Murphy, Travis Johnstone. I picked up basically all of the good cash cows this year and they have let me complete trades such as:
Rioli > Buddy
Masten > Scott Thompson
Ellis > Goddard
Mattner > Milburn
At this stage my team is complete and i have 6 trades to spare for injures for the rest of the year with Rhys Palmer as my emergency in the midfield therefore i won't need to trade in the midfield. I might need to trade Chad Cornes if he gets that supposed surgery.
I didn't pick up the early draft picks and didn't make any money from my bench and it is killing me.
Go Fairley! We're behind you.
Haha. Thanks The "Captain Obvious" BrownDog. 189,993 people are "behind" Fairley.
I moved up 2600 spots this week to 3,500 odd.

Dude! Nice work. I've been getting progressively worse in the last few weeks, but i have quite a few cash cows to trade and heaps of trades left too. I was as high as 2000th at one time but i think I'm hovering around 10,000 right now. :(

I neglected to mention it at the time of paying you out but old blokes have a far worse problem than that which afflicts young fellas.

What would this problem happen to be POBT?

Great job Fairley. You need some luck but you don't get to be that high at this stage without knowing what you are doing. Hope you keep it going for the rest of the year.
My team has gone abysmally all year. Basically everything thing that can go wrong has and I think I have played a man or two short every round since about round 5. My "wife's" team is going okay though and even when she has a bad week now it is pretty comfortably over 2000. It is not going to challenge but with some luck it could down to around 100 by the end.
Well done Fairley, keep up the good work (on behalf of all of us).
FWIW I got just under 2500 last week (22nd overalll for the week) BUT FORGOT TO PUT A FRIGGIN CAPTAIN!!! Normally I leave Brown but for some reason I was tossing up between him and one of my Geelong midfielders so un-captained him and left it as it is. Shows you what can happen though cos I made Brown captain this week and struggled over 2000.
Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season, do the Lions BF board proud.
Note: in between critical work business today I started putting together the goal conversion analysis - BlackPowerLappin has had a bit of a look, its interesting stuff (for those that like interesting stuff). From memory:
- the most glaring thing is our accuracy at the GABBA is only 4th or 5th in line in all stadiums we play at..
- our accuracy against StK is our best
- our accuracy at AAMI is our best
- our accuracy at Subiaco is a distant last
- we've scored the most behinds of all clubs in, I think, 4 of the past 6 seasons
- our accuracy against Sydney is shocking..
On a similar but different topic, BPL raised a good point today - we have seen little of the issue from last year of kicking a behind then the opposition run it to their forward 50 without us touching it - has been almost non existent so far in 08..
Anyway as more analysis comes to hand will be happy to share..
What would this problem happen to be POBT?
Us old blokes are wondering too POBT:p.

Something similar to a season that never got going!

Nice going Fairley....I'm right behind you.
Figuratively speaking that is.....I'm, ranked 128,300 (or something).:o
That's what happens when you don't enter until Round 3 and you find out after Round 4 that five of your "Dream Team" aren't even playing. Must pay more attention to detail next year.:(
Anyway...all the best...go get that car.

It won't mean anything unless you win the Brisbane Board SuperCoach league.
That's what actually matters.

I am going to suggest that Fairley doesn't even know what Pogs are;). Although I still have my prized Brad Boyd Gold Captain Pog from the mid 90s!

Ouch .. those players must have hurt you this week.. scores of 40 and 35
Only 130 points of 2nd place .. Lift Fairley LIFT !! :p
btw, are you or anyone else considering trading away TJ to someone like bartel or cross? ..frustrated because his 35 cost me the eliminator by ~10 pts :(
Seems I have Fairley this week in one of my leagues. I am a mere 1500th ish as opposed to his 6th. Don't see myself having much of a chance but hopefully I'll provide some better competition. Pity Fev didn't have his massive score this week instead of last.

I've got him too, in SC. I'm just going to write it off as a loss and not bother logging in for a week. ;)
Team Name TOTAL POINTS
1. gatheringstorm 24,294
2. Collingwood 24,157
3. The Mongol Horde 24,116
4. BERNIES BOYS 24,061
5. Richoooooooooo 24,034
6. Fairley's Force 24,026
Fairley is now only 268 from the lead and can be considered to be actually running 5th.....since we all know that Collingwood can't possibly win anything ....:D
And watch out Fairly...I'm the bolter in the pack having improved to position 122,708 ;)
Speaking of Collingwood....Didak got you 44 and Heath bloody Shaw went completely missing with 22.
Trust the Pies to let you down when you most need them.:thumbsd:
