A sad indictment of our times. I wonder if we are following suit.A huge expense to keep players safe.
I heard Eddie on radio saying that its not true, they can't afford it......only do it for Mad Monday......I seriously doubt whether we, or most clubs for that matter, would need them......a sad state of affairs if we did..

Would hate for our game to get to that level. Football stars in England basically live like recluses.

Sadly, this is the inevitable result of the current media culture that we're in and the sad fact that these guys are targets for every fool that's full of piss (and/or drugs) and themselves, thinking that it's cool to provoke them into a conflict for sport.

West Coast has hired Security Guards for the players when they go out to partys and that. Article in the Herald Sun this weekend. Probably to make sure the guys behave since the AFL has made such tight restrictions to West Coast.
