View Full Version : Which team's performance have been the most surprissing
There have been a few surprises this year in regards to team performances, so I thought I would get people's take on them. You can vote more than one team, and feel free to give reasons other than the limited ones I did.
I voted 3;
- Bulldogs, top effort so far this year, didn't think they could maintain it however they have proved a lot of people wrong
- Richmond, I thought they had the wooden spoon locked in, however they have looked really promising
- West Coast, I believe they are still a top 8 side, so not sure what is happening there
EDIT: Just kidding by the way Bombers fans. I expected your team to be on more wins.

Maybe its just me but to say a team that has just 14 points after 11 rounds is hardly promising to me. Add to that a few thumpings they have copped.

freo- i just can't believe they have only won one when you look at the team on paper it looks good but they have no heart or Soul even Pav can't get them over the line!
closely followed by the Bulldogs to be honest I didn't think they'd make the 8 but they're solid and I don't see them droping to far from 3rd if at all!
I''d say both Freagles. I knew Weagles would slide because their one-man-gameplan left, but I only predicted a 6-7 spot dive. Freo's list management has been a disaster, but their dive was a bit more than I expected. Blues have been pretty disappointing in terms of wins this year. Should have won about 7 minimum at this stage, but more importantly, I'm delighted with the way Ratten is developing this talented young Carlton side. :)

Bulldogs. Thought they would just miss out on Finals but they are a top 4 side and will make a big challenge for the flag.

Actually in agreeance with Parrot.
I predicted the Eagles to be just outside the 8.
Didn't expect them to fall so drastically though.

If Carlton had won 7 minimum they would be sitting top 4. They are definetly on the improve however this year and maybe next are still development years for the young blues.
You couldnt expect a team that has indured so much change recently and coming from such a low base to be top 4 yet.

Haven't we found a new liking for arrogance
A lot of people had them locked in for the spoon this year, and expected them to not do much. When I say promising, I mean they have pushed top teams at times, and there are promising signs there for the FUTURE.
For them not to be in the bottom 4 is a surprise, and a good effort I think.

That's correct. This is a development year for our young side, and whether we finish 4th or 10th this year, it doesn't really matter that much. What IS important is that we have got our player development on track, and are developing a decent gameplan, with the help of a young enthusiastic coaching team. It's about winning flags ultimately. Don't care about ladder finishes. Means nothing. :)
