Yeah he is eligible for a F/S at richmond as Tony Free played over 100 games, but I don't think he is old enough for this draft.

Anyone got more info on the kid - age, position, playing style etc, i am really curious now especially with Tony's appointment to the board. Tony was an absolute gun player.

The kid is a gun.
Definate f/s rule now and with his old man on the board at richmond the kid looks 2 b doning the yellow n black ova the next few years.
Is a strong on baller who is agile and gets plenty of it.
Along with a strong season next year the kid could b goin top 10!

Is he eligible for next years draft?
Due to proposed drafting rules where u need to be 18 to be drafted to assist the new gold coast team???

yeah the kid is a very solid player capable of playing across a wide range of possys, i've played with him and against him for many years and he is definately a ball winner, hard at the footy, very strong set of hips and is allusive up forward, the kid has a big tank and doesn't stop, he'd fit in well up at the tiges best of luck to him.

the kid isnt eligble until next years draft. also with the f/s rule he will b going to the tiges as he will b taken at a higher pick (around 30-40) this may not b a true indicator of how capable this kid is

definately tonys son. will waltz into richmond very comfortably under father/son and hopefully get a bit of a career going for himself.

good to hear....
it'll be a good F/S pickup to get considering the draft concessions GC will get next year.......hopefully we wont' need to use up an early pick for him and simply pick up a bargain....

hopefully young josh keeps developing but flies under the radar...certainly wouldn't want someone to throw a 2nd rounder at him in the bidding system...

I think he's only about 174cm at the moment though so will be interesting to see if he grows much more.

I also have heard this. He would want to have a few amazing qualities to be drafted at this hieght. For his and the RFC's sake, hopefully he can grow to 178cm or so.

Although it now seems that AFL clubs are tending to take a step back from drafting Athletes and are concentrating more on Footballers. Players like (using Richmond as an example) Oakley-Nicholls were drafted high 1-3 years ago because they were seen as 6"3 athletes who had great leaps and great speed. However their skills and footy brains needed to be worked on.

But last years draft showed how players like Gourids and Gearnter either dropped or weren't picked up whilst "footballers" like Mastern, Palmer, Grimes, Maric etc were picked up in the top 20
