Although we have had a relitively shizen season.. im really excited.. Warnock and Garland look like they will develop into key backmen.
Aussie is an excitment machine and just what this club needs from a marketing aspect.
Green has thrown his hat into the ring for becoming a permanent capatin...
Brock McLean's form has been tremendous.. i thought he might struggle this year with him copping the number 1 tagg but it looks like he is ready to be the nucleaus of our midfield.
There is plenty more to be excited about and anyone who isn't a member now is your time to jump on board and be part of something special.
Bloody tough choosing from all that lot. Obviously Ozzie's been fantastic and so exciting, and I've loved Green's responce from being voted out of the leadership group, but I had to vote for Garland.
I put my hand up - I rubbished him early on this year, he looked so out of his depth and I didn't think he had the hardness to play AFL. But i am sooooooooooo happy to be proven wrong. He has been brilliant this past month and has shown glimpses of becoming such a good fullback.
The biggest concern for me coming into this year was our options down back - we had Dutchy, Carrol, a hardly-ever fit Rivers down there last year and I just thought we were going to struggle badly again.
I thought the answer may come in Frawley, or maybe Rivers getting fully fit but it has come through somewhere I never thought it would - Garland (with some help from Warnock of course!).
So that's why I chose him above the others.
P.S - when you think about it, despite this being another shocking year, there is a lot to be excited about coming into the next few years!! Great thread.

Jones and McLean turning into a great duo in the midfield has been my highlight. They compliment the other duo of Bruce and Green very well. Moloney's form has been promising too but now he's ____in injured :(

Aussie is the type of player that you go to the footy for, just like Farmer was and Davey is. Although if Garland and/or Warnock can develop into quality backman that could prove to be the best thing, jury still out on those two as far as i'm concerned. Really we havn't had an absolute quality backman since Ingerson.

Col Garland.
I was one of his harshest critics earlier in the year but he has developed into a super prospect, I only hope now that he isn't Brad Miller-ised and swung back and forward continually from now on. Keep him down back.

I'd have to vote for Matty Warnock, for a guy that was in the wilderness playing at Sandy the last couple of years he has really impressed me down back.

Where is the "dee-molishon is a peanut and it's hilarious to read his posts" choice? That wins hands down. If you ever feel depressed, just come on here and read what he has to say. One day it's about how terrible and pathetic the club is, and then he feels bad and tries to be positive the next day. You'll feel better in no time knowing there is someone worse than you out there.
BC - The dud brother curse won't be broken as Robbie Warnock will be on our list next year! ;)

All have been massive positives. However Colin Garland by far has surprised and delighted me the most. He has been sensational, especially on Monday.

Didn't take much did it? Say one thing for the guy, say he's consistent. Now we can all watch him squirm while he thinks of interesting quips and similies.
You need to get over here for a few more games BC! We are good for one more win! ;)

You could probaly add:
Brad Miller doing something!
Bartram returning and looking positive
Moloney back (allthough it now looks shortlived but atleast his groin looks ok)
By the way I voted for Aussie, as much as Garland and Warnock will probably have a greater impact on the future, I have just loved the way that Aussie has gone about it. He has been my highlight this year because he gets the fans excited even when we may be losing. He really makes me enjoy the footy and stand up and cheer, that said when the big boys down back do something good it isn't as exciting but it is very pleasing.
All of those options are good.
Also I would like to say that I am impressed with how the coach has handled the pressure and our team looks like it is playing positively. Slowly but surely we are improving. Up forward we are obviously behind the eight-ball but I have faith we will improve there as well.
The one thing I was worried about was that the new coach may not have got the players to stay positive in very trying conditions - if players don't want to win for the coach then we're stuffed. Considering we had Daniher for 10 years many players could have got set in their ways but I think over-all both older players and new players are responding to the coach very well and most importantly they are trying pretty hard.
