1st Buddy-Like they say the big men are hard to find and buddy is a freak! 72 goals last year at the age of 20! on track for a ton at age 21, and not just any ton but in the regular season whcih hasn't been done since the early 90's!
He will become one of the greats of all time and is easily the most exciting to watch!

2nd- Ablett- Hard to choose this one because judd is clearly not fully fit yet, but the way ablett is playing he is a freak, can go forawrd and kick goals and no has the ability to shake of tags!

3rd- Im going judd he is slowly getting back his contested possies are the most in the league and easily the best leader going around! I so hope he gets back to the best because i think people sometimes forget how good he is to watch when humming!!

4th- Brown- When his on he is on par with buddy to watch, but juddging on this year his consistency has dropped off a bit! seems to have lost a bit of his spring but as a true champion does he pushes himself to the limit!

We are blessed to watch these players play!

Of course I am going to be biased - Right now as per the op, I know that Buddy and Ablett are better than Judd right now. I also believe Ablett and Buddy are playing at 100% fitness right now, Judd is still at 75% right now. So by my calculations after their recent games, Judd is and will always be the better player.

But as a true supporter and with my blue goggles on, I will always pick a player in my team over any other!

I goto all Hawthorn games with my GF, and I always tell her that Buddy is becoming a major star - all praise to him, but in hindsight, it's the delivery of ball he is getting from the midfielders that make him so good.

At least I know that Ablett gets his own ball which would make him better than Buddy.

But then I look at Judd's hardball gets for the season and his last game and it gives him the slightest edge....but then again, it's IMO.

If that isn't enough for you, here is my rating for right now:

How many times have I seen him push his opponent in the back when he's gone for these marks and it's gone against him, is quite funny. You need take your Buddy goggles off and really watch him play.

I'd say most of his goals come from ground level, so you are right when you say he has the freakish ability below his knees. But I expect these types of remarks from Hawks supporters when someone doesn't think your team player is the best of the best....thanks for the amusement spud!

Judd has not been that good this year. Not breaking tackles at all. Hardly see him sprinting out of packs. His skills have been alright (not great) but its hard to do it well when your getting tackled every time.

Again champ the stats don't lie! how many times do i have to say it! you really are dumb! I already said about 15 posts ago that i would take brown in a contested mark situation! But the fact is you said buddy realied on the delivery of midfielders and that he wasn't good in a contested situation! The stats say he is! I think you need to have a good look at it! The only reason you would take brown is because he is a bigger body!! Buddys 21 mate, haven't seen to many 21 year olds as big as him! Wait for another few years when his body is fully developed! Half a season you say well this is his 4th season a bit hard to go back 10 years when his only played 4 years idiot! compared to a player whose almost into 10 years of afl! No love for Matthew Pavlich? Five time All Australian in five different positions not good enough? OK, so I might be a bit biased but there is nobody who can take a contested mark like Pav. He even takes them with three blokes hanging off him week in, week out. He's been spending lots of time in the midfield this year but is still fourth on the goalkicking list. All of this while receiving nowhere near the quantity or quality of service that Brown and Franklin get.

I would rate Simon Black second behind Pav, he's incredible.
